Welcome to Wellness: Fact vs. Fiction with cardiologist Dr. Danielle Belardo, a podcast dedicated to debunking wellness trends, exploring fact-based medicine, and busting any headline that’s more “hype” than happening. Each week, Dr. Belardo will interview top experts in a variety of fields including women’s health, dermatology, exercise science, gastroenterology, mental health, and—her personal favorite—nutrition science. She will be addressing common myths that, even as a preventative cardiologist, she once fell victim to, and sharing whether the latest tips from Goop, Rogan, or other so-called experts are indeed facts or just pure fiction. Dr. Belardo's mission is to cut through the noise and help you to stop wasting your time and money on anything that doesn’t actually bring you the health and happiness we all deserve. This is the podcast where scientific debates and discussions are fact-based and nonsense pseudoscience can take a hike. Wellness has been unwell, so let’s change it!... more

I appreciate this podcast immensely. Dr Belardo’s relentless pursuit of evidence based information & practices. Experts at the top of each field give real explanations & guidance. Dr Belardo’s obvious compassion, empathy & respect for patients is a tremendous service to the medical community. I also love her mantra about providers who aren’t giving their patients appropriate care…find a new doctor!! We as patients are consumers of our health care. We deserve to get the best care.
I’m so thankful I found this podcast to help break down fact from fiction ! Would love to see a podcast on fibromyalgia- fact and fiction as far as what can cause it and “treatments “ etc
I have learned so much from this podcast series. The cholesterol series, master class in lipids, development of medical guidelines, GMOs are all outstanding episodes. Hope to hear many more.
Some episodes feel really balanced and objective. There is just clearly anti-fat bias going on. You’re more likely to develop an eating disorder than lose weight successfully and sustainably and yet doctors continue to promote restrictive diets. It’s attitudes like these that keep patients out of doctors offices getting essential preventative care for life-threatening issues. I wish the Dr.’s would at least acknowledge the mountain of evidence showing we don’t have a way for people to sustainabl... more
Danielle and her podcast are a perfect example of why so many have grown mistrusting of medical professionals over these past few years. Much like a preacher with a string of pre-selected bible verses to support their claims, she too has her go-to studies, guidelines and fellow “science based experts” to reinforce her ideas. Because of course, this is science. It’s easy. Step 1: Create Your Conclusions. Step 2: Find evidence to support your conclusion. Step 3: Throw out, ignore and even c... more
