  • Loving the sound of this!!

Hi Stephanie, I'm on the verge of becoming a nutritionist here in Australia, and your podcast came highly recommended by my internship mentor. Listening to your content is truly inspiring. As a nutrition student, I've long felt the desire to extend the reach of my degree, particularly in aiding others. However, I've found the clinical counseling aspect daunting, and my confidence wavers. Discovering your podcast feels like a pivotal moment, and I'm eager to gain insights from your episodes on ho... more

  • Not unique

This is not unique or helpful. She’s reusing content from other dietitians. Don’t recommend.

  • Fills In the Gaps

I stumbled on Stephanie’s website/newsletter while looking to improve my counseling skills since returning to patient care after a long hiatus. Honestly I remember why I left…and so I’m loving this new podcast! It’s as if Stephanie can read my mind at times. It shows me I have a lot to work on (which feels quite terrible honestly), but the good news is it offers solutions and I am willing to learn if it will help my patients!

18. How a repeatable counselling framework creates higher client retention
Q: What concrete changes did you implement in follow-ups and goal-setting to improve engagement?
We started focusing on client-led questions, limiting action steps to one or two per session, and mapping short-term milestones along the path to long-term goals, which reduced overwhelm and increased follow-through.
18. How a repeatable counselling framework creates higher client retention
Q: What did you notice about your approach before adopting the counselling framework, and how did that impact client retention?
Before adopting the framework, sessions felt more education-driven and control-centered, which left clients overwhelmed and prone to not following through. This led to higher ghosting and shorter retention.
17. Keeping clients engaged in an insurance-based group practice
Q: What keys have helped you scale to a group practice while maintaining quality of care?
Hire experienced, passionate dietitians, establish a strong clinical supervisor, maintain open lines of communication, and implement systems for onboarding, training, and ongoing supervision to sustain high standards.
17. Keeping clients engaged in an insurance-based group practice
Q: Could you share how you stay within your scope of practice when using more advanced counselling techniques?
The approach is to tie counselling work to eating disorder behaviors and day-to-day food planning, involve therapists for trauma or deeper issues, and ensure clear coordination and communication with the care team.
