Hello. Welcome to our first episode of 2023! We're the Didi and Gogo of podcasting. So while we wait for Godot come and rummage with us through the dustbin of design and pop culture detritus. No news this week as we're just wittering on about what we'... more
Rob has written to his MP and Ministers about AI art and the rights of illustrators. Jon remains wracked with self doubt and incertitude. Yes, it's another cheery episode of the podcast that is and isn't about design! more
I'm sure that there have been more Prime Ministers this year than North v South episodes and it's all Rob's fault. But here we are again; talking about the state of Twitter and what the alternatives are, as well as the usual design news and things on... more
In which we bid farewell to a truly great illustrator Kim Jung Gi. more
In which Rob drinks beer and gets rather angry about tech boys. Jon, meanwhile, is worried about his dog. more
After a brief (for us) hiatus of 84 days we return to blether on about, in no particular order: Branston pickle, vertical cities, AI art generators, Jessica Hische, Rings of Power, Design Principals, Awesome Merchandise, Tattly, LEGO Atari, and Fungu... more
This week in episode 108 Rob's been to Birmingham to find enlightenment. Jon's been ripping up carpets trying to find inspiration and comes to the conclusion that he left it in London about 10 years ago. more
This week in the podcast with its fingers in the pies, we talk iconic film soundtracks while paying our respects to the genius of Vangelis. Also hello Elizabeth line and hopefully goodbye to boring branding (don't hold your breath). more

Engaging discussions (and occasional rants) about design, working, films, Oxford commas, books, and the rules of pie construction. Always packed with interesting stuff to explore.
This doesn't let being a podcast about design get in the way of film, TV, book, pie & beer chat, which is how it should be. Like a chat with your mates (but you don't need to join in.) Recommended.
Top notch rambling chats from two of the Podworld's most grounded creative types. A link to my roots – their words reach across the Irish Channel with warming tales of savouries from the Fatherland. I listen to Jon and Rob while walking the dog. You should too. And if you don't have a dog to walk, get one. Then you can listen to NvS.
I just really enjoy this podcast and they always end with a British pie at the end, and I've just been craving to try one, but being in the US they're not as common. But I just made a reseveration at a fancy tea room in the area and plan to go to a store called the English Shop tomorrow to pick a couple up. Don't listen if food easily sways you!
Not being a designer, I shouldn't really be the right audience for this. However, the fact that I am just goes to show how delightful Jon and Rob are to listen to. I learn, I laugh, and I salivate as they discuss design, typography, their own working lives and, of course, pies. They're not at all snobby about the subject matter (such a relief) and therefore I urge anyone and everyone to listen to these two chaps have a chat, share an occasional rant, and review pies.
Utterly wonderful company on a Friday afternoon. Always gets me thinking about familiar aspects of design in a different way. Essentially: two clever, funny chaps take all the design noise out there and digest it into a bloody nice chat. And then they eat pies.
By far one of my favorite podcasts. It hovers somewhere between art, design, pie, and someone's drunken conversation about the beauty of the mundane. Really great to listen to while working. High recommend to pretty much anyone.
The mellifluous design led rants, I mean discourse of a pair of down-trodden… ahem… down-to-earth chums from opposing ends of the social spectrum… er, country. What's not to like? Informed (sometimes) chat, chortles, chomps (pies) and ch… slurps (ales)… chaps, this podcast about, but not about design is a delight. You deserve to be big… after all them pies.
