I followed Carrington Vanston over from his Eaten By a Grue (which you MUST listen to as it is AMAZING!!!). Long story I am a huge fan of his and now am a fan of Mike. This is another phenomenal podcast talking about stuff I experienced growing up. I love the subject matter AND the tangents of glory!
Long story short - More Carrington please!!!
I thoroughly enjoy each and every episode! I especially enjoy when you guys cover a game that I can play on my vectrex or one of my Atari consoles. Thanks and Happy new year!
What a great podcast. I just learned about this one from the YDK Flak podcast and I am very grateful for the suggestion. Nice and concise review of each classic game, no fluff or wasted time and the interaction between Mike and Carrington is great. This podcast has gotten me over the hump to buy a mame cabinet to start playing along with the fellows.
I love it. :)
Great arcade gaming podcast. Great camaraderie between Mike and Carrington. Love the format and the length is perfect! Give it a listen!
I went to arcades at every oppurtunity as a kid, and try to hit up our local barcade when I can as an adult. Mike and Carrington give arcade games the treatment they deserve with lots of cool background info and friendly but passionate discussion. The 2 hosts couldn't be a better match - they are at their best when they disagree, and the debates they have with each other always make me think. Love it, you guys are killing it. Keep it up!
Like others have said i've just also found this podcast and i've now downloaded all the episodes and i'm slowly going through them all. Love it !
A great podcast, look forward to future episodes
If you grew up in the 70s and 80s playing arcade games subscribe now. Mike and Carrington give wonderful reviews about the classics, and games you've never heard of. Since the Flux Capacitor hasn't been invented yet, this is the next best thing to keep those great games alive.
Even though Mike and Carrington suffer from the misguided notion that the Apple II was the greatest personal computer of it's day, by no means does this impact the awesomeness of this podcast. As someone who couldn't pry a quarter from their old man's pocket to save their life, I appreciate hearing all about arcade games that I have previously only experienced as VCS or C64 ports. Be careful listening to No Quarter as it's very addicting and you'll wonder where your weekend went due to maratho... more
Why has this show only got 2 reviews? It's a fantastic and fun trip down memory lane with a little competitive aspect to it as the hosts vie against each other to achieve the least-cruddy score on the game of the week. After Arcade Outsiders and Gameroom Junkies there aren't many retro arcade shows out there so we need to support them..!
There is a great chemistry between these hosts. It's funny, informative, and well worth your listen.
Carrington and Mike do an awesome job. The banter is great. Keep it up
This is a great show about arcade machines from the 70s to the 90s. If you love any kind of classic gaming, you really should be listening to this.
Carrington and Mike are not arade machine experts by any stretch. They don't have rooms full of machines in their basements, and they can't recap a monitor. This does not keep No Quarter from being an excellent podcast. The hosts spend a large amount of time talking about the game mechanics and whether the game is actually fun or not, and they do it without the cynicism of your typical arcade machine collector snobbishness that is really refreshing. They also throw in fun bits of history about t... more
This is a really cool and informative podcast. The guys really know what they are talking about and the chemistry between them is great!
