Sam Cooper has done such detailed work in exposing the failure to act in the drug trade as it developed in Wilful Blindness that he simply needs to be interviewed. The link into political support makes me scream at the failure of Canadian politicians. Drug money laundering is funding so much that your great work here should offer platform for Sam Cooper to be interviewed.

  • This political insider helps guide you ...

... through the weeds of Canadian politics. Pamela is a federal senator and her pod is a strong counterpoint to CBC, CTV, TorStar, Post media and wire services, which in whole or in part, are funded by laws enacted by Justin Trudeau's federal Liberal party. Best wishes to her and to anyone else who will do likewise to counteract the "issue coverage omissions" of the aforementioned media organizations.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The G2 Summit: A New World Order? with Charles Burton
Q: What do you make of it all? Did anything happen? Was it important?
It was important for China to assert itself as a power comparable to the United States and to push a narrative where China views itself as the emerging dominant power by 2049, with implications for international institutions and the balance of Western alliances.
Is there Strategic Momentum for Ukraine? with Marcus Kolga
Q: Is there an argument for joining NATO and seeking a more formal embrace by Ukraine from Western alliance structures?
Marcus responds affirmatively, noting Ukraine's progress and the strategic logic of closer integration with Western institutions, while also pointing to the importance of addressing internal reform and corruption to sustain that path.
Is there Strategic Momentum for Ukraine? with Marcus Kolga
Q: But that brings our total to 26 billion. So we want to make sure that the money is getting where it is needed. So who do we call?
Marcus explains that the funds and assets program should be mobilized through existing sanctions legislation and asset tracing, with a push to use seized assets in Canada to support Ukraine while ensuring proper legal and financial oversight.
Political Perils: From AI to Free Trade with Sean Speer and Rudyard Griffiths
Q: What is the government's new Sovereign Wealth Fund intended to achieve, and how does it differ from a traditional wealth fund?
The fund is framed as a deficit-financed subsidy program aimed at spurring national projects, rather than a traditional wealth fund used to save surpluses and invest for long-term returns.
The High Price of Pursuing New Trading Partners with Mark Warner
Q: Walk us through that a little bit, given the Supreme Court decision and the options the US president has for tariffs.
The tariffs most affecting Canada are the Section 232 national security tariffs, with other measures like Section 301 and 122 having a role; Congress may eventually decide whether to keep or repeal the IEPA-based measures after 150 days, while the US can also reapply or adjust tariffs through other statutory tools, keeping pressure on Canada as part of a broader strategy.
