  • Liberals attacking Canada’s constitution illegally.

What great insight from Former Newfoundland premier Brian Peckford. As always Brian thanks for providing the clarity on what the Liberal Gov is up to. Canadians need more of this reporting.

Excellent work post USA/Israel intervention in Iran. Here is hoping it turns into a long term change for the good in that region. Well done Brian.

  • Canadas 25 years of mismanagement

After listening to Martha Findlays comment on the dairy farmers holding the country hostage. Funny how in that 25 years Canada has done alot of poor management decisions to lessen our economic success. Those year only 4/25 years did the right wing parties have a majority. Hmmm?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Investor interest in Alberta going ‘nuclear’ over Carney’s messaging
Q: So as someone in the business, give me your reaction from when you first heard about it to now. How are you feeling about this deal?
I'm excited about the deal, I think steps are being taken, and trust is being built as capital markets want to see the steps and proof that follow, which should mobilize more investment.
This is why so many Albertans want to separate
Q: What would be the path to independence or reform?
A combination of an independence referendum, possible re-federation steps, and negotiating leverage through constitutional signals like clear majority votes and dialogue on equalization reform.
This is why so many Albertans want to separate
Q: What first convinced you Alberta should separate from Canada?
A mixture of economic frustration with federal policies, a belief that Alberta's resources and governance allow for independence, and the idea that a real deal or reform is needed to reflect Alberta's distinct interests.
Liberals are ‘hijacking’ the Charter, says Canada’s last living framer of the Constitution
Q: Was Trudeau truly aiming for a unified Canada, or was the Notwithstanding Clause a necessary compromise to ensure provincial buy-in?
The guest contends that Trudeau sought centralization, but compromises and hidden negotiations with provinces were essential to securing agreement, and the Notwithstanding Clause represented a negotiated bargain rather than an outright preference for a centralized Canada.
Liberals are ‘hijacking’ the Charter, says Canada’s last living framer of the Constitution
Q: Should the Supreme Court be able to change the Charter without broad public input or provincial consent?
The guest argues that constitutional changes require broad consensus and that the court's authority is bounded by constitutional conventions; unilateral action without provincial agreement undermines democracy and the balance of powers.
