  • Canadas 25 years of mismanagement

After listening to Martha Findlays comment on the dairy farmers holding the country hostage. Funny how in that 25 years Canada has done alot of poor management decisions to lessen our economic success. Those year only 4/25 years did the right wing parties have a majority. Hmmm?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Canada’s defence is still a mess despite Ottawa’s NATO-spending claims
Q: Why is there debate over the F-35 vs. Gripen, and what does the choice imply for Canada's defense and industrial strategy?
The debate centers on capability, interoperability with NORAD, and the broader defense-industrial consequences; the F-35 is seen as the superior, more interoperable platform, while Gripen represents a different approach tied to domestic industry and political considerations.
Canada’s defence is still a mess despite Ottawa’s NATO-spending claims
Q: Is it clear that Canada has hit the 2% defense spending target, or are we still dependent on estimates?
It's not clear; the data cited is an estimate noted in NATO's annual report and final books haven't been closed, so the 2% milestone remains uncertain.
Trump’s plan for Cuba isn’t what you’ve been told
Q: Do you want a regime change, or would you be okay with an economic deal?
The guest explains that a Venezuelan-type political change is seen as necessary, arguing economic reforms alone won't unlock economic freedom without political change.
Canadian politics plays right into the Carney Liberals’ hands
Q: Does Matt Jenneroo have a chance at winning again as a liberal?
Lorne believes it is very unlikely for Jenneroo to win again as a Liberal due to perceptions of disloyalty and his lack of recognition in his riding.
Canadian politics plays right into the Carney Liberals’ hands
Q: What do you make of his personal decision to cross the floor, Chris?
Chris describes Jenneroo's decision as shameless and questions how someone can make such a switch and look themselves in the mirror every morning.
