  • Stephan Dion Episode

Thank you for helping the separatist movement in Alberta by having Mr Dion for your most recent episode. He single handedly demonstrated exactly what’s wrong with Canada and why Alberta needs to leave.

  • Love Matt's interviews, but

Jen so often lands on a rhetorical point during interviews and discussions, then repeats the same point for ~20 minutes. More often than not, it's not a thought worth dwelling on.

The hosts have great chemistry, but I’d enjoy more episodes if the conversation is able to keep flowing.

  • All round review of Your opinion in general

Subscribed to your podcast and after a couple listens, do not agree with your opinions. Heard you on CJME, Oct 14th, and it made me automatically respond to your biased commentary. Your opinion that the US is divided and a country in trouble…really?? It’s on the mend from the democrats policy failures, DEI, mass migration and wokeness. Trump is turning things around and back to Christian values. You definitely have TDS. Open your eyes. I am dropping your subscription today

Thank you for this episode. As a born and bred Ontarian, I learned a lesson t. It is also comforting to see something somewhere that Canadians can do that is positive with so many negative events flowing around and upon us.

  • My new favorite Canadian political pod

I came to the pod during the most recent election and, frankly, because I’d missed hearing Jen’s take on the world from a previous podcast. What I found here was incredibly insightful, fact based and true journalism, which is plucking all the strings of this disenfranchised centrist political junkie’s heart. Jen and Matt, you have earned my support, my trust, and my support.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are we the digital baddies?
Q: Why is there retroactivity in Bill C-4 and what does that imply for political party privacy?
Retroactivity to 2000 effectively nullifies prior privacy breaches or claims against parties and signals an aggressive attempt to shield political parties from privacy norms, which critics say undermines accountability and creates an uneven regulatory playing field.
Are we the digital baddies?
Q: What was the intent behind the Online Harms Act and why did it struggle to gain traction?
The Act aimed to impose a broad duty on platforms to act responsibly, be transparent, and face penalties for harms online, but its broad scope and the inclusion of criminal-code-like provisions generated fear of overreach and framed it as risky and potentially chilling for free expression.
Are we the digital baddies?
Q: Michael, can you explain what the US concerns are about Canada's digital laws within the context of USMCA renegotiations?
The US identifies two main issues: agriculture-related concerns and discriminatory digital measures, notably around the Online Streaming Act and broader digital regulation; the US wants Canada to avoid policies that could be seen as protectionist or discriminatory toward American platforms.
Does the U.S. have a plan for Iran?
Q: Could the Iranian opposition be effectively armed, or is nonviolent resistance the better path?
Kaveh Shahrooz discusses the risks of arming the population, arguing that the regime is heavily armed and that a violent overthrow could lead to chaos; nonviolent mass mobilization is presented as a potentially more sustainable path, though it is not without risks.
Does the U.S. have a plan for Iran?
Q: Is the goal disarming Iran or regime change, and what are the realistic timelines?
Roggio suggests there is no clear, concrete objective and notes that statements from leaders have oscillated between disarming Iran and regime change, making a fixed timeline difficult to justify.
