  • Really engaging and wide-ranging

A friend sent me an episode to check out. Despite not living in ABQ myself, I was still compelled by the stories and interviews. It’s interesting to hear hyper local perspectives juxtaposed with the daily political headlines we’re bombarded with. These guys do a good job of covering real issues without wading into partisan waters.

  • This podcast has interesting and timely topics. However, when the guest speakers phone in for the discussion, the audio quality often suffers and back ground noises interfere with the professional feel of this podcast.

From FBI To City Hall: Albuquerque's New Public Safety Director
Q: What were your big takeaways from your time as the SAC for the FBI in Albuquerque?
The key takeaways were building a deep understanding of the local communities, recognizing the shared and unique challenges across the state, and focusing on core FBI pillars such as civil rights, public corruption, and counter-terrorism, while aligning those lessons with how public safety should operate at the city level.
Meet The New Police Chief In Albuquerque
Q: How do you plan to handle politics and maintain integrity in the role?
I will stay true to who I am, avoid political maneuvering, and navigate political realities with honesty and a focus on doing the right thing for the community.
Meet The New Police Chief In Albuquerque
Q: What differences should the public expect under your leadership compared to the previous chief?
A stronger emphasis on transparency, direct communication with staff and the public, and a focus on outcomes like reduced crime and improved community engagement, while maintaining essential reforms.
Meet The New Police Chief In Albuquerque
Q: Why is accountability for you such a big deal?
Accountability is central to reform and trust-building with the community, ensuring officers act within policy and that the department demonstrates responsible leadership at every level.
Promises vs. Reality: New Mexico's Broken Child Welfare System
Q: Do you think this investigation will lead to meaningful changes if leadership changes but other structural problems remain?
The changes will only be meaningful if they are accompanied by resources, training, capacity expansion, and a reoriented leadership focus on safety first, not just reunification. A new governor alone is not enough without systemic reforms and a deliberate legislative roadmap.
