  • Wonderful!

Love this podcast and find it very thoughtful and insightful. The episode with Kira Asatryan was good but her affected vocal fry was very difficult to listen to. It’s interesting, when Kira is speaking authentically, it’s beautiful but it changes into this affected nuance at other points in the convo. Makes me wonder if this is when she doubts herself.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Miracle of Language - Mark Nepo - ND3862P
Q: Can you explain the idea of the 'spoked wheel' and the commons?
The spoked wheel shows individual gifts forming a rim of community; the commons are shared spaces—literal and spiritual—that require care from everyone to sustain life and mutual belonging.
The Miracle of Language - Mark Nepo - ND3862P
Q: How does the concept of courage shift when explored across languages?
In Spanish, courage seeks to name what it wants to say, revealing a different worldview where action arises from relationship rather than a solitary act; language becomes a bridge to shared meaning.
The Miracle of Language - Mark Nepo - ND3862P
Q: What first awakened your sense that words are more than tools for communication?
Words are teachers and living medicine; they reveal deeper truths when we stay in conversation with life and let language point to the larger kinship that underlies experience.
Changing Our Brain For Resilience - Rick Hanson, Ph.D - ND3638
Q: What is the HEAL framework and how does it work in real life?
HEAL stands for Have, Enrich, Absorb, Link. You have the experience, enrich it by making it salient, absorb it so it sinks in, and optionally link it to other experiences to reinforce positive changes in the brain, creating durable shifts in behavior.
Changing Our Brain For Resilience - Rick Hanson, Ph.D - ND3638
Q: Can you explain resilience in practical terms and how it relates to changing the brain?
Resilience is the capacity to recover from adversity and sustain well-being by developing inner strengths; you first experience something (activation) and then internalize it (installation), which gradually becomes a trait that shapes your nervous system.
