  • A Hunger for Wholeness

The results of the Cherrystone study describing the science of the effects of trauma on DNA passed on to the 14th generation has been known and mostly ignored. This podcast illustrated how the human body develops its unique sensitivities from the basic need for survival. These characteristics are encoded in the DNA. What this podcast does so clearly is to connect the dots from indigenous people and self healing to modern life that uses pseudoscience that deepens the trauma rather than healing it... more

  • Irresponsible Platforming

My heart breaks noticing the title of this podcast and then witnessing the platforming of disinformation. This is not nonduality. This is not love and compassion and healing. This is spreading information that is leading to more death and destruction of indigenous people while wearing the costume of being awake. It’s sad to see.

  • Great speakers!

I knew of some of the guests speakers, and now have learned of so many more. This is one of the only spaces that are doing “the work” without spiritual bypassing injustices and incorporating indigenous voices. Thank you!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

ALTÆR: Iya Affo
Q: What do you think is needed for Western psychotherapeutic approaches to shift so the approach is more ancestral and historical and generational?
There needs to be an understanding of how to allow someone to make sense of their experiences without re-traumatizing them, and to prioritize traditional healing modalities that have been known to work for generations.
#58 On Extinction & Enchantment: Alixa García
Q: Could you mind speaking a bit about your ancestry, your past, your lineage?
I come from the land of the Ibarachami, now known as Fredonia in Antioquia, Colombia. I was born with indigenous black and Spanish roots, and I identify as the daughter of colonization and resistance.
#129 Embodying Anti-Zionism: Wendy Elisheva Somerson
Q: How do you work with that balance of letting go and releasing the trauma but not bypassing the trauma?
We have to integrate and allow stuck survival responses to move through our bodies and make sense of what is current danger.
#129 Embodying Anti-Zionism: Wendy Elisheva Somerson
Q: Can you talk a little bit more about this embodied Jewish healing?
It's working at the level of the body using body-based practices to release trauma and allow new stories to emerge.

Q: What led you to Buddhist practice initially and how has your cultural heritage informed your approach?
