Started listening to this on my long drives to get to Purple Hearts gigs on the advice of drummer extraordinaire Andy Orr. Very interesting stuff to hear things from a totally different perspective, maybe get someone from Scotland for a future episode? Suffice to say this ended up in a “Scamps” t-shirt in the Night Design collection…hopefully Belinda liked it!
This podcast transports you back to a wonderful time. Informative, humorous and colourful in its descriptive memories from the women of that time and era describing the fashion, music and camaraderie of the mods. Wonderful listen.
I was part of this scene and knew most of these women but their perspective documented here is actually new to me and this production is fantastic
Very enjoyable to hear from young people who created their own subculture which went on to influence the national (and international) culture
Review
Brilliant - a long overdue insight into East London & Essex's
Mod culture from a girls perspective. Well done.
