  • This host is on something!!!!

If you are just interested in hearing the rehashing of the “same old, some old”, and someone just kissing a**, then look no further. The “interviews”are delivered by an individual who sounds as though he’s forgotten his Ritalin, and would be more at home selling used cars to country bumpkins. BORING and tedious.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Gettin' Together W/ Tommy James
Q: What's your perspective on Woodstock and the Woodstock booking decision, and how has retelling that story shaped your legacy?
James reflects that declining Woodstock became a teaching moment and source of mileage for later storytelling, including subsequent major festivals like the Atlanta Pop Festival, which tempered the initial disappointment with a broader view of his career arc.
Gettin' Together W/ Tommy James
Q: What drove the shift from AM Top 40 singles to selling albums, and how did Crimson and Clover make that possible?
Crimson and Clover gave the band a chance to pivot from singles to album sales, a shift that broadened their audience and opened the door to longer-form commercial success. This period solidified their staying power beyond the initial Hanky Panky hit.
Gettin' Together W/ Tommy James
Q: How did Hanky Panky come about and how did you end up with Roulette Records after the initial local success?
Hanky Panky originated with a local producer in Jamesville, Wisconsin, and after its initial limited release, Pittsburgh's distribution and a call from a Pittsburgh distributor led to a broader push. When labels were courting the track, Roulette won out after the others, despite concerns about the label's mob connections, which James discusses frankly in his book Me, the Mob and the Music.
Martin Sweet (Crashdiet)
Q: What does the Sweden Rock festival mean to Crashdiet as a Swedish band still active today?
It's a big platform to reconnect with fans, showcase new material, and remind themselves and the audience why they've endured for so long.
Geoff Tate's Operation: Mindrime 3
Q: If you could sing for any band for one night, who would it be?
He jokes about choosing Bring Me the Horizon as a dream guest, noting it would be an unusual but inspiring fit for warming up before a show.
