We are Dave and Jake, two 60 year old music fans, and we take on a different theme per episode and pick five relevant songs each. We cover music from the 60's to now, and more or less any genre you can think of. From Punk to Pop, Reggae to Northern Soul, Drum N Bass to Ambient, if it's out there, we'll listen to it. It's our saddest songs. No tears, but plenty of bumbling around, forgetting what we were talking about, disagreements about whether disco songs can be sad. You know, the usual.
We revisit 1985, well someone had to. Shenanigans galore, some goth, some feedback, some panpipes. Huh? Panpipes? Bloody panpipes? Are we mad? Quite possibly.
We discuss being young with a selection of old 70's pop hits we would have heard on the radio and Top Of The Pops when we were aged 5 - 11. Obviously it goes without saying that we stray off topic numerous times and Jake says "Oh dear" a lot.
We go through our Top 10s of 2025, with detours into overpriced records and merch, a rambling explanation of Hauntology, rating Jake's jokes out of 10 and the usual old rubbish.

Worried that it’s two men of a certain age endlessly discussing Pink Floyd? Don’t be. To friends who love music in all its forms and discuss absolutely everything. I listen on my phone whilst queuing up the songs they discuss on the computer and listen along. If you are into very specific types of music it’s probably not for you, but if you’re in to all music this podcast is well worth a listen.
