Chris Sims and Matt Wilson love movies. The kinds you would pick up on VHS on a Friday afternoon and have to watch that weekend, no matter how terrible it was. They also love to hate them. Movie Fighters is a celebration of that. Each episode, they watch a movie, recap it, and try to make sense of it. They often don't.

Matt and Marlene went to Portland and Seattle in early September, and in addition to trying the food at the diner from Twin Peaks, they have a lot more food from the trip to discuss!

Matt and Marlene try five flavors of store-bought Italian ice, also known as water ice, to see if it can possibly measure up to what you can get at Rita's and other spots.

Listen, we're not going to try to create some false mystery about whether 2024's Kraven the Hunter was good or not. It sucks. But which two parts made Chris and Matt laugh so hard they cried?

By popular demand, Matt and Marlene tried the Shaq gummies. Some are in the shape of his face, some are, like, a clover and a truck. But how do they taste? And to cleanse the palate, we ate some new chip flavors, too!

Took a major turn for the worse quality wise. If it’s not Chris and Matt, I’m out.
I was listening to snack situation and now I’m hungry.
For some reason they seem to think that people listen to a movie podcast to hear an in-depth discussion of what they are snacking on. They have convinced themselves, with some help of the listeners, that that is the best part of the show. As time went on, they focused more and more on this stupid part of the show. This sometimes happens with long running podcasts where the hosts get full of themselves and revel in the parts of their shows that is popular with a small subset of the audience but d... more
Epic. My favorite podcast discovery. 10/10
Yes, there are lots of bad movie podcasts, but this one is better. First, Chris and Matt aren’t just looking to make fun of movies. They’re starting with a level of deep affection for most of the films they cover, which often leads to them being disappointed. It’s bad for them, but their pain is your pleasure. Second, this feed contains the spin-off, Snack Situation, which is always delightful.

A unique blend of humor and critique characterizes this podcast, where the hosts offer engaging discussions on movies that often veer into the realm of "so bad it's good." With each episode, listeners can expect a mix of movie recaps intertwined with comedic banter, making even poorly received films entertaining through the hosts' witty insights. The added charm is in their nostalgic approach, focusing on films that may have floundered upon release but carry a certain cult appeal. Audiences are likely drawn not just for the films discussed, but also for the lighthearted, conversational atmosphere that invites listeners to reflect back on their own cinematic experiences and the sheer joy of sharing thoughts on bad movies.
