  • The Best Comic Book Podcast

The title says it - this is, bar none, the best podcast about comics. Matt and Chris are hilarious, have great guests, and if you don’t want to listen to them rank all comics against each other you’re wrong.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 780 - Loser Girl Territory f/ Katie Skelly
Q: Katie, what inspired Heaven's ending and how did your outlook shift during the five years since you began the book?
Heaven originated as a vehicle for processing COVID grief and uncertainty, then evolved toward a more optimistic ending as Skelly's perspective shifted. The ending moved away from a hellscape conclusion to one that reflects hope and personal growth, influenced by the creator's broader experiences during that period.
Episode 773 - Just Floppin' Around f/ Fred Van Lente
Q: What would you watch again for the first time, if you could experience it freshly?
Fred mentions Alpha Flight 12 as a mind-blowing, imprinting moment from his youth, and other guests discuss classic films like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, illustrating how early media experiences shape one's creative sensibilities.
Episode 772 - Lynch's Spawn
Q: Which wrestler would make a good podcast host given their personality and presence?
They suggest several names, focusing on presence and charisma, noting some have podcast experience while others would need a different medium but could be compelling interviewees.
Episode 772 - Lynch's Spawn
Q: Would you prefer $100,000 now or no fall damage?
They choose the $100,000 option, arguing that money now provides tangible risk mitigation and could fund future hobbies or health investments, even though the hypothetical is playful.
Episode 772 - Lynch's Spawn
Q: If you were to speed run a video game, what game would it be?
They settle on a mix of Mega Man 2, Super Mario World, and Mega Man 3 as plausible targets, with a preference for titles they enjoyed growing up and feel confident could be completed quickly by a dedicated gamer.
