  • The most disappointing show of all time.

Horrible bait and switch. The show and the podcast start off with such promise, keeps giving the audience falls hope that something will happen, and then just ends stupidly. Total garbage and a huge waste of time.

  • It had potential

But that’s it. One of the most tedious shows I’ve ever seen. I can’t imagine what Apple was thinking. It’s incredibly self-indulgent and makes no attempt to entertain.

  • Only made it about 12 minutes through.

I thought this would be an excellent way to supplement the show which I should’ve dropped by the third episode given that it seems to be tedious and meandering. It’s no “Breaking Bad” but I decided to stick with it. I thought maybe, just maybe some supplemental content would be on the podcast, but it seemed to be nothing but various people conducting a self congratulatory session. Maybe season two will be better, but I’m really not gonna stick around to find out.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this podcast

Not being a sci-fi lover I think I slept through most of the episodes. I love podcasts and thought I’d give these a try to see if I could change my mind about this series. Boy did it ever. Oh my goodness. 😀 I’m going back to rewatch the series. I think I should’ve listened to the podcast first. 🤗

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S1E8Bonus:The Sound Team
Q: What is the difference between sound editing and sound mixing?
Sound editing is akin to the sous chef, preparing ingredients, while sound mixing is about blending those ingredients into a final product.
S1E7Bonus:Paul Donachie
Q: How do you approach working with somebody who's doing it for the first time, either the first time ever or the first time with this group of people?
My first premise is that you're there to help that director make a film for them. It's their film, they're making it, so you're there just to help them to do that.
S1E5Bonus:Mark Hansen
Q: What advice do you have for somebody who's coming in? What are you looking for in a collaborator?
I think directors who understand the various roles on set and communicate effectively tend to be the most appreciated, as they know who to approach for specific needs.
S1E3Bonus:Miriam Shor
Q: How do you manage your character's physicality in a hot setting while acting as if you're cold?
I trick my mind into believing I'm cold by using sense memory techniques, which helps create the authentic performance despite the heat.
S1E3Bonus:Miriam Shor
Q: Can you talk at all about your process of sort of creating that character?
I had to show that I loved and supported someone else, which would then make the audience find the character lovable.
