I appreciate Wes Moss seems kind, knowledgeable, and professional. But I would recommend you calm down about your discussion about Core pursuits ; at one point in the podcast you said something like if you’re not filling your schedule with a whole bunch of different core pursuits; you just won’t be a happy retiree. I just think you should diverse human experience of diverse human needs more that

  • No Thanks

I am unsubscribing to this show. Wes either doesn’t listen or doesn’t understand the questions he is answering. Too many answers are completely useless on material he does not seem to understand. On the episode I just listened to, Clark even attempts to guide Wes’s ramble and he still didn’t get it. Too frustrating to listen to. It is unfortunate, the topics are good.

What the Happiest Retirees Do Differently: Insights from The Retire Sooner Method
Q: How much of retirement income should come from dividends?
It depends on investment style and whether you are in accumulation or distribution phase; dividends can provide a steady income stream and reduce reliance on selling assets, but the exact split varies by individual needs and market environment.
The Ultimate Dividend of Retirement: Freedom, Flexibility, and Financial Planning
Q: I'm 60 and plan on retiring in two years. I will have about a million dollars, mostly in my pre-tax 401K. Should I take the lump sum or the monthly pension when available?
The recommendation is to lean toward taking the monthly amount if the math supports a higher ongoing income and to consider liquidity and heirs in case longevity or other needs arise. The break-even analysis suggests delaying Social Security and choosing the stream that provides more secure, longer-lasting income unless there are specific liquidity needs or estate planning goals that favor a lump sum.
Retirement Curveballs: Early Retirement, Taxes, and Market Volatility
Q: Jeff in Tennessee asked about establishing and funding an enhanced direct indexing account for tax loss harvesting and whether it's a new concept.
Wes explains that direct indexing has grown into a major strategy, highlighting lower costs, tax harvesting potential, and how technology allows owning hundreds of stocks to mirror an index and harvest losses, while noting that tax benefits may fade as the portfolio compounds. He also covers practical considerations and the evolving feasibility with AI.

Q: What is your take on whether to use dividend ETFs versus individual dividend kings/aristocrats in a taxable account?

What Does a Fiduciary Advisor Really Do? Taxes, Retirement Income & Investing Explained
Q: Could you rank the ideal account types for dividends and provide a few itineraries for how a long-term dividend investors should structure their portfolio?
The short answer is to place qualified dividend paying stocks or ETFs in taxable accounts, especially when the dividends are taxed at favorable long-term rates; use retirement accounts (IRAs) for income-heavy or growth-focused investments when appropriate, and consider a mix of individual dividend paying stocks and ETFs with a bias toward ETFs for broad diversification.
