Modern Fae is a new audio drama that centers around Diya Greenberg, a young woman who feels lost in her life, and makes the fateful decision to move to a tiny South Texan town to manage a bookstore. Little does she realize, but Encrucijada is much, much more than it seems. It is a haven for the legendary and mythological, the shadowy and supernatural. And it is in grave danger. Here, even the shad... more

Modern Fae is fun a and well produced. I love their take on contemporary mythology.
Love the concept of this...but some of the characters sound like they are calling from another planet, and/or just reading in a monotone from a script. Otherwise pretty fun and creative...keep going!
Absolutely adore this strange town and its strange inhabitants! Great voice acting and writing, and really really fantastic music and sound design. If you like things like Emma Bull and Charles De Lint I think you will love this. Hope we get more soon!
Why it took me so long to find i dont know but this is a great piece of work. Take the time, get to know the characters and enjoy. Love it.
The story is pretty good. Really like the idea of this. But, the audio quality isn’t the best. Some characters voices are mixed way louder than others as well as the music. (Example: when Diya and Aoife are talking and there’s wind chimes in the background. Well they aren’t in the background they are louder than the characters speaking. And some characters have an eco on their voices, is that bc multiple people are playing different characters and trying to disguise their voices? The echo makes ... more
Really enjoyed the characters and setting. It's enough of a world to give you the feeling of a great paranormal book series you want to keep reading. I hope they continue, but worth listening to the episodes already out.
There are a host of podcasts playing off the contemporary gods-and-tricksters mythos, but this one definitely stands out, with a delightfully resilient protagonist, a world that is both rich and focused at the same time, and a story that is only beginning to unfold to reveal all the fantastic folks and beings (is a sentient back room a folks?) inhabiting it. Please, please don't miss this one!
Fairies aren’t my thing—but this podcast is anything but typical fantasy. I love listening!
not much else to say, this is really cool!
I grew up on mythology: some from my native culture, some Greek, Norse, Japanese, Chinese, and a little Nordic, even. The tales as old as humanity and the creatures within it are beautifully modernised in this humble podcast produced by a group of dedicated people. While the difference in production value among voices is a small thing to get used to, I would bet good confidence that they'll get enough traction to even out the sound.
i would willingly take a bullet for the cast and crew of this production
I know its just the beginning, bit I am SO curious about whats going to happen to Diya. Tons of fascinating characters, great music and lots of sound effects, clever puns ;) Modern Fae is a fun and magical audio drama, seems like its made with love...
The premise is really cool and all the voice actors are so diverse, it is so refreshing to hear. Can’t wait to hear how the story unfolds!
Good set of characters that make you want to hear more. The cast members do a good job in bringing these folks alive, and the music and sound effects are very well done. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
The music is en point here. Aside from a couple of obvious differences in recording equipment, the audio and voice acting is amazing. Got to love the brewing story, and I’m a sucker for mythology. Well worth the listen.
