I’ve been binge listening to this podcast for the last month and a half. I recently was hired as a middle school pastor (this is my first full time ministry job) and I just started this week, so it’s been super helpful to listen to this podcast and learn. My last church’s youth ministry was ~200 students, and I’m now pastoring a youth group much smaller about 30-40. I’m looking forward to the youth ministry growth accelerator, especially as I am already planning youth camp my first week in. Sooo... more
Kristen and Jeff, you are both amazing! I love how you bring your experience to the table to help anybody working in youth ministry. As an intern/leader who works closely with the pastor for programs, camps, and events, you guys provide such great ideas and prospective we need. Thank you both for all you do! Also with how much you talk about them, it seems like your team is awesome!!
I’ve been in full time youth ministry over 20 years and serve at a relatively larger church and I would tell anyone at any stage in youth ministry to be listening to this podcast weekly! Some advice is appreciated and not applied, but this podcast is absolutely necessary for your youth ministry no matter your context! You’re doing an amazing job Kristen! I feel like we’re friends even though we’ve never met!
I stumbled on this podcast while searching for a youth group game and I’m so thankful! Our youth ministry team is all volunteer, so time is limited. Ministry Coach does a great job of encouraging listeners and incorporating fantastic suggestions to those of us who have smaller youth groups. Engaging in youth ministry in our community is a challenge because our students are in the minority as evangelical Christians, so we appreciate all the help we can get to encourage them in their journey!
I found this podcast through a suggestion on a Facebook group a few months ago and listen to it each week on my way to work. It has been such a help for my husband and I as we navigate our first few years of youth ministry. We minister to teens, but a lot of these ideas can be modified to fit different age groups. I recommend this podcast to all the leaders I meet in youth ministry!

Youth ministry leaders and volunteers are the primary audience, drawn by practical, battle-tested coaching for growing both size and health of ministries. Episodes repeatedly emphasize governance, safety, leadership development, engagement strategies, and scalable programs for volunteer teams, with hands-on tips, real-world stories, and clear calls to action such as growth accelerators and coaching programs. A notable strength is the founders' emphasis on relationship-driven leadership, servant leadership, and tangible tools (curriculum, games, events) that listeners can implement immediately. The show often blends candid ministry anecdotes with structured frameworks, making it helpful for newcomers while still valuable to seasoned youth wo... more
