  • Left-wing Editorial…

…. Disguised as a “Economics” show!

NPR, which is “Never-ending Political Rhetoric” has now taken over the last bastion of news on business, markets and the economy!

Taking over Marketplace by insidiously embedding left wing political rhetoric and editorials in their “make me smart” (ironic!) rather than focus on business and the economy! For Gods sake, please stop with this nonsense, stick to markets, leave politics out of it!!!

  • Political editorial disguised as Marketplace…

    NPR: Never-ending Political Rhetoric

Tune in elsewhere for economic news folks!

Just heard Kimberly’s interview of Politicizing the National Guard… (irony doesn’t escape you, NPR??) ….

    Question:

What does this have to do with the Economy?

Kimberly never asked the gent from Cato one question about economics, US companies, markets, or prices?! So it’s clear this was just a political editorial show disguised under Marketplace!!

NPR: if Kimberly is just going to hijack Marketplace-to do her... more

  • Swing and a miss

I just give up, no news here. You stage interviews on the need for energy in the next 2 to 3 years to fuel AI and data farms and then you have an energy expert, who explains that nuclear is the future but we have no nuclear program so we should just spend more money on solar. There was no conversation about the cost of these energies or how solar will provide the needed electricity for data farms at night.

Your story had no value if you want to provide information from an economics and market p... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bytes: Week in Review - Amazon and AI, YouTube tops the media market and Meta buys an AI-only social network
Q: What do you think that might mean for what we see on YouTube moving forward?
YouTube's integration of tools across the Alphabet ecosystem and its AI-driven creator support will likely lead to more tailored content, smarter recommendations, and a higher emphasis on efficiency in production, potentially giving it an edge over traditional media players.
Can Congress tackle housing affordability?
Q: Yeah, there are some restrictions on institutional investors. So investors could build single-family homes and rent them out, but they'd have to sell them after seven years, and they wouldn't be allowed to own more than 350 single-family homes. What don't they like?
The House opposition argues the proposed limits on the size and ownership of rental portfolios could constrain construction, slowing the impact of the bill on increasing housing supply.
How confident are crypto consumers?
Q: What does your survey tell you about what types of people tend to be more confident in investing in cryptocurrency?
The data show that optimism and investment tendency vary by region, with the Midwest and the South being more optimistic about crypto, possibly due to a desire for decentralized alternatives.
Who gets to set limits on AI?
Q: What does this mean for the rest of us, though? What could be the implications for everyday people?
The episode suggests this could signal the Trump administration's preferred direction on AI policy, with potential effects on safety considerations, surveillance, and the balance between rapid deployment and protection against harm, impacting how everyday users experience AI in public life.
Who gets to set limits on AI?
Q: What does it mean to be designated a 'supply chain risk' and how does that designation affect Anthropic and other American tech companies?
The designation suggests a potential vulnerability or risk associated with a company, which can restrict its ability to contract with the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, potentially harming revenue and operations, especially amid high-stakes competition and policy debates.
