  • Great Show

I really like the show and think the journalists are great, but I have a small complaint about being able to hear Nancy Marshall-Ginser’s saliva when she talks. Her voice and reporting are fine and it seems like a silly complaint, but I’ve been a frequent listener for years and find it to be a consistent issue with either the way she talks or the vocal production. It makes listening with headphones so insufferable I find myself skipping her sections at times.

  • Left-wing Editorial…

…. Disguised as a “Economics” show!

NPR, which is “Never-ending Political Rhetoric” has now taken over the last bastion of news on business, markets and the economy!

Taking over Marketplace by insidiously embedding left wing political rhetoric and editorials in their “make me smart” (ironic!) rather than focus on business and the economy! For Gods sake, please stop with this nonsense, stick to markets, leave politics out of it!!!

Oil prices up as ceasefire deal expires
Q: What is causing the uptick in oil prices right now?
The expiration of the ceasefire with Iran and ongoing diplomatic uncertainties, combined with disruptions in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, are contributing to higher prices and expectations of tighter supply.
Cyberattacks on U.S. water systems raise concerns about security
Q: How might AI change the landscape of cyber threats and defense in the near future?
AI can both speed up attackers' capabilities to discover and exploit vulnerabilities and empower defenders to patch weaknesses faster or automate defense, with the biggest impact coming from how quickly and responsibly models are deployed and monitored.
Cyberattacks on U.S. water systems raise concerns about security
Q: What makes water infrastructure a priority for cybersecurity now?
The combination of aging systems, internet-connected OT, and evolving threat actors means water infrastructure is particularly vulnerable, and there is a push to improve basic protections like strong authentication and clearer responsibility sharing across federal, state, and local levels.
Retail sales fell unexpectedly in July
Q: What does the box-to-box data say about inflation and the Fed's timing on rate moves?
The general view is that inflation has cooled and bond traders have pushed back on urgency for rapid rate hikes, suggesting a slower pace or pause could be warranted even as energy-driven price pressures moderate.
