  • Left-wing Editorial…

…. Disguised as a “Economics” show!

NPR, which is “Never-ending Political Rhetoric” has now taken over the last bastion of news on business, markets and the economy!

Taking over Marketplace by insidiously embedding left wing political rhetoric and editorials in their “make me smart” (ironic!) rather than focus on business and the economy! For Gods sake, please stop with this nonsense, stick to markets, leave politics out of it!!!

  • Political editorial disguised as Marketplace…

    NPR: Never-ending Political Rhetoric

Tune in elsewhere for economic news folks!

Just heard Kimberly’s interview of Politicizing the National Guard… (irony doesn’t escape you, NPR??) ….

    Question:

What does this have to do with the Economy?

Kimberly never asked the gent from Cato one question about economics, US companies, markets, or prices?! So it’s clear this was just a political editorial show disguised under Marketplace!!

NPR: if Kimberly is just going to hijack Marketplace-to do her... more

  • Swing and a miss

I just give up, no news here. You stage interviews on the need for energy in the next 2 to 3 years to fuel AI and data farms and then you have an energy expert, who explains that nuclear is the future but we have no nuclear program so we should just spend more money on solar. There was no conversation about the cost of these energies or how solar will provide the needed electricity for data farms at night.

Your story had no value if you want to provide information from an economics and market p... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Gas vs. gas
Q: Heather, let me ask you then about the translation of wage trends into consumer behavior and inflation, given the energy pressures.
Wage growth is cooling, which along with higher gas prices compresses disposable income; the effect is uneven across income groups, with higher-income consumers continuing to spend while lower-income households tighten, potentially shifting demand and price pressures depending on energy costs.
Gas vs. gas
Q: Heather, we start with you. We start with the jobs report from this morning for the month of March, 178,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate falls to 4.3 percent. What do the numbers look like under the hood?
The big picture shows a frozen job market with unemployment hovering around 4.3% while underlying dynamics include strong gains in sectors like manufacturing and construction, but with movements in labor force participation and cooling wage growth, especially as energy prices rise.
The March unemployment rate fell — but there's a catch
Q: So unemployment rate down, jobs up. Do we feel good about that?
Yes, it's the best job growth in over a year and the unemployment rate has fallen, but there are caveats including weather effects and labor force participation that suggest the trend isn't as straightforward as the headline.
34 days without internet in Iran
Q: What about safety issues that might be raised by not having that information in a conflict zone?
People suffer because basic services like medical access or police help depend on internet connectivity, and even emergency lines may fail when information systems are down, highlighting the danger of state-controlled networks in crises.
34 days without internet in Iran
Q: Is that possible on the NIN?
Not fully. While there is a national network, the regime tightly controls the application layer, limiting how people can access information and communicate, especially regarding war and bombing narratives.
