I really like the show and think the journalists are great, but I have a small complaint about being able to hear Nancy Marshall-Ginser’s saliva when she talks. Her voice and reporting are fine and it seems like a silly complaint, but I’ve been a frequent listener for years and find it to be a consistent issue with either the way she talks or the vocal production. It makes listening with headphones so insufferable I find myself skipping her sections at times.
I think my title says it all. Without Kai and his data and informed opinions, this show would definitely be less than!!!
Informative, funny and thought provoking
…. Disguised as a “Economics” show!
NPR, which is “Never-ending Political Rhetoric” has now taken over the last bastion of news on business, markets and the economy!
Taking over Marketplace by insidiously embedding left wing political rhetoric and editorials in their “make me smart” (ironic!) rather than focus on business and the economy! For Gods sake, please stop with this nonsense, stick to markets, leave politics out of it!!!
Love the straight up info and really Main Street check ins! Data for real people.

The show blends macroeconomic context with market news, policy shifts, and real-world stories to show how inflation, energy costs, and regulatory changes shape everyday decisions. Episodes frequently thread themes like Federal Reserve dynamics, energy markets (notably LNG and gas prices), tech privacy and AI, and the evolving landscape of regulation and consumer behavior. Noteworthy is the mix of on-the-ground reporting, expert guests from finance and policy, and thoughtful explorations of how global events ripple through households and businesses. This combination makes it a practical, signal-driven listen for professionals who want clear implications for markets, policy, and commerce, rather than just headlines. A notable strength is the ... more
