This podcast is a hidden treasure.
I started using Macs in grade school, and every month I would look forward to buying the latest issue of Mac Addict or Macworld.
I have many great memories of staying after school to build small projects with HyperCard and Golive Cyberstudio, (and for some reason the teachers let me install kaleidoscope to change to UI and tweak things with ResEdit)
This podcast brings back those memories.

Great selection of stories and very well read. I really appreciate Derek’s work!
MFR is meticulously produced and more fun than you’d imagine at first glance. Very much worth your time—especially if you’re a “pre-OSX” user.
I’ve been listening since the podcast’s early days with the original series and it has never failed (not even once) to deliver a smile, chuckle or simply instill a sense of appreciation for how the Mac has evolved…for better or worse.

I have been listening to Derek for years now and seeing an episode release honestly makes my day. He does a fantastic job of finding interesting Macintosh (and by extension, Apple, NeXT, and vendor) time pieces. Additionally, he does a fantastic job contextualizing references made in the journal that may be relevant to the listener by providing extra material both in and out of the podcast.
This is by far, one of the best selection of articles that you can hear about the Macintosh and Apple. All the emotion of the early days is there plus a lot of interesting resources to follow (e.g. it also includes many stories of NeXT).
