  • Addictive

I first learnt about the TCR from the Netflix documentary and my jaw dropped. I found last year’s podcast and wasn’t sure what to expect but thought I’d give it a go. It’s sooo good.

There’s now only one thing left to do. Enter the race next year.

  • Inspiring

I’ve reviewed this podcast before but wanted to add something about the recent Women Who Race series. They have been really insightful.

My previous is below and still relevant.

A wonderful insight into an awesome event. The podcast pieces together the stories from the route, the thoughts of the organisers and an insight into the riders. The production standard is very high. This is an enthralling and inspiring listen. Thank you to everyone involved.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Unpacking the Rules and Spirit of the Race + Q&A
Q: What about accepting aid from fans or friends along the route?
Cheering and casual support are fine, but riders should avoid any interaction that could be interpreted as targeted race support or influence the race outcome; large-scale or repeated 'trail angel' actions should be kept at control points to prevent questions about the integrity of the race.
Unpacking the Rules and Spirit of the Race + Q&A
Q: Is it allowed to share food or money to resupply?
Sharing at a resupply is allowed if both riders would access the food anyway and it doesn't create an unfair advantage or cash-based advantage; explicit examples show situations where a rider paid for another's item, which is acceptable if it remains an incidental, non-advantageous act.
Unpacking the Rules and Spirit of the Race + Q&A
Q: How long is it okay to ride with someone else before it becomes problematic?
Riders are expected to maintain self-sufficiency, and while social interactions are allowed, prolonged riding together risks creating an unfair advantage; the guideline underlines staying within the spirit of self-reliance and ensuring that you're not effectively racing as a team.
TCRNo11 // Day 17
Q: Are you happy? Are you proud to be here?
Yeah, I calculated that it could be one day earlier or one day later. So I'm just in the middle.
TCRNo11 // Day 17
Q: Is there a message you want to give them?
Just keep pushing. And it's definitely worth to keep going on.
