Greg Cox: Identity Theft. Pavel Chekov is a reminder that some Star Trek characters do their most interesting growing just outside the spotlight. Known for his youthful enthusiasm, sharp wit, and loyalty to the Enterprise, much of Chekov's developmen... more
David Mack: Ring of Fire. With fewer Star Trek series currently on TV, it's the novels that keep us boldly going. These stories bridge the gaps between episodes and explore what happens when the cameras aren't rolling — deepening our connection to th... more
Gateways: What Lay Beyond. Back in late 2001, Pocket Books published the most epic crossover event to date: Gateways. With six novels spanning the eras from The Original Series to Voyager, the series brought together multiple authors to tell stories ... more
Interview with Star Trek: Khan writers Kirsten Beyer and David Mack. Legacy isn't reserved for heroes. Some characters leave a mark not through their nobility, but through the incredible shadow they cast. Few exemplify this better than Khan Noonien S... more
In 1997, Pocket Books began releasing novels in a new series - one not based on a Star Trek television series. The brainchild of then-editor John J. Ordover and author Peter David, Star Trek: New Frontier was a way to have a series of novels with its... more
Gateways: No Man's Land. At one time, Christie Golden was the preeminent author in the Star Trek: Voyager novel line with 13 of her 16 Star Trek stories being with the crew of Voyager. In fact, even Kirsten Beyer hasn't surpassed Golden's contributio... more
Gateways: Demons of Air and Darkness. Star Trek literature's mission was to expand the universe of the series beyond what was seen on screen, so in doing that the books continued series that had ended as well as created characters to follow; the Gate... more
James Swallow: Toward the Night. One of the beauties of tie-in fiction is to do exactly what the name implies, to tie in to the show or universe and add details that the films or shows just don't have time to do.

I really enjoy listening to Casey and Jonathan discussing trek books and comics. They are always good fun and informative.
This show is great! The hosts are extremely knowledgeable on Start Trek and StarTrek literature. The accessibility to the writers is what really makes the show.
How can you be a Star Trek fan AND a right-winger? It's truly disappointing.
This is a great show for discussion, interviews, news, and commentary about Star Trek books and comics. The hosts, while always giving their actual takes on the material, try to find the goodness in whatever they review and do not take pleasure in bashing anything. There is a good sense of humor present in the episodes, too.
This is a solid podcast with two guys the clearly like Trek and are enjoyable to listen too. My only main issue is they are heavily focused on ToS and TNG books/content. They hardly ever touch on other series like Voyager and DS9. Would be nice if they covered Trek books more broadly.
I’ve been reading Trek books most of my life and I love that there’s finally a dedicated podcast that looks at both the new and older books from Trek’s history. They have a great format and sometimes we are lucky enough to hear from the authors themselves as they dive into their influences and reasons some of their stories go in the directions that they do. Check them out!
Bruce and Dan do fantastic work, continuing on from the great podcasts from Christopher and Matt, breaking down all of Trek novels, comics and reference books.
Having the people that produce and write Trek Lit on the podcasts gives us, the listener, an unique insight into the inspiration into the books we love to read.
I’m starting at 1 and working my way through all 271 and counting, still so much literature to get to!
If you like Trek Lit then this is a must listen podcast! 🖖

After so long in the wilderness of being the only person I’ve ever met who was a die-hard fan (or a fan at all!) of the Star Trek novels, finding this podcast was a breath of fresh air and a balm to (what little remains of) my soul. Thank you for showing me I’m not alone, and also thank you for taking the books seriously, but not too seriously that you cannot identify and call out the occasional stinker.
I would rate this podcast 5 out of 5 podcast greenrooms complete with a Dayton Ward and a wet bar. I absolutely love the author interviews, the honest reviews, and even the touches on the comics, which I don’t read. If you love Star Trek books, why wouldn’t you listen to this podcast?! I’ve been reading Trek Lit since I was a kid. My first was “Perchance to Dream,” TNG #19 by Howard Weinstein. Not one likely to be reviewed on this podcast, which is probably fine given all the amazing new Trek Li... more
One of the best podcast offered on Trek.Fm without a doubt, lots of source material to work with and the host are great.
Absolutely fantastic podcast, keep up the great work. Is there any news on any Star Trek Enterprise novels coming out in 2019.
Growing up, I never had anyone to talk about Star Trek books with. I wish there had been a podcast like this. Or you know, podcasts at all.
I really enjoy the well thought out and honest discussion on each title. It's great that you've made the effort to interview the authors and then prepared some meaningful questions regarding their work. Thank you for the time you have put into this program!
If you like to read Star Trek novels, this is the podcast you should listen to. Both Dan and Bruce really know their stuff and discuss each book in debt. They sprinkle in the occasional humor so the show is never dry. Furthermore they regularly invite the authors, which is a real bonus. For me it really adds to the whole reading experience to read a novel and listen to the podcast afterwards. And if you are behind on your reading, no worries because they discuss older novels as well. Keep up the... more
Firstly, I love this podcast. It covers something I really love in an entertaining and informative way. I only found it a few months ago but have binge listened to every podcast up to and including the latest, featuring Phil Farrand, the author of The Nitpicker's Guides. I have them all (including the X Files one :) ).
Unfotunately, for me, he was a less than ideal guest. There were long passages concerning the publishing process, during which he lengthely namechecked numerous people we don't ... more
