  • Gone down hill since Barry joined.

Tried to give this podcast a "fair shake" since he joined. The direction of the podcast has changed dramatically since I first started listening in 2017. The focus of novels over the final season of Discovery was disappointing. Barry started off with well but has been overrunning Dan with his opinions (this has reoccurred to the point of where it is basically a solo show now)

  • Positively Wonderful Podcast

Followed them over from Literary Treks and boy oh boy, I just love ‘em.

A very thorough look at Star Trek while also being positive. Not afraid to be critical, though - the things we love can also disappoint us. But any criticism is never done in bad faith.

That’s the fun of loving something - you love it wholly, flaws and all. Which is why this pod rules.

The Khan That Could Have Been
Q: Was it worth this series being made? Was this a story worthy of being told? What are your thoughts on that?
This was amazing. I enjoyed it. It was fun. It's a brand new medium for me in Star Trek.
Playing My Favourite Songs
Q: Do they give you a series Bible or are you just going based on the scripts and what you've seen on screen?
At this point, I pretty much know Star Trek, so I don't think I need to know who these characters are. They were sending me the scripts for the third season.
Playing My Favourite Songs
Q: Was this an idea that you pitched or did this come from editorial? How did this get started?
The idea to write a Star Trek: Strange New Worlds novel came from Kirsten Byer at Star Trek HQ, who asked if I would contribute a story to the new series, with a lot of creative freedom granted.
Book Club: Seven of Nine Knows Her Name!
Q: Where did the idea for a Seven backstory novel originate?
The idea originated when David Mack was watching Star Trek Picard season one and was inspired by Seven of Nine's character and the Fenris Rangers.
Nana Visitor Joins Us to Talk About Her New Book!
Q: Would you be open to doing a documentary based on this book?
I would be very open to it, especially if I can gain access to interview more women involved in the new shows.
