  • Awesome Podcast, but can Mike Linch really be that genuine?

The answer is yes! Before moving out of the Atlanta area My family and I were members and volunteers at NorthStar, the church Mike pastors in that area for years. I also had the opportunity to serve beside Mike in a parallel role for high school athletics at the local high school. Mike’s compassion and love for leaders in the community is as genuine as it seems in these podcasts. I lead a multi state business myself, and I look forward to these podcasts on a weekly basis. I love the perspective ... more

  • Leadership principles for all

This podcast is great for leaders and even for those who don’t think they may be a leader. I can’t tell you how many times I have picked something out to apply from one of Mike’s conversations.

Anyone can learn from these interviews whether or not they are a leader. Such great content that I look forward to each episode.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dr. Richard Blackaby on Experiencing God & Spiritual Maturity
Q: What does spiritual maturity look like across different seasons of life?
Maturity looks different in each season—it's about how one aligns daily rhythms with God, serves family, and remains teachable, rather than accumulating accolades or staying stuck in mountaintop experiences.
Major General Jack Briggs on High-Stakes Leadership and Crisis Decisions
Q: What role does faith and daily discipline play in preparing for crises?
Faith and daily disciplines (prayer, meditation, Bible study, and reflective practice) build a mindset that remains steady under pressure, helps leaders align actions with their principles, and prepares them to guide others through crisis.
Major General Jack Briggs on High-Stakes Leadership and Crisis Decisions
Q: How does humility play into leadership during a crisis?
Humility involves asking for help and input from others, allowing empowerment of the team, and avoiding the trap of always needing to have all the answers; it's about leveraging collective knowledge to avoid solving the wrong problem.
Major General Jack Briggs on High-Stakes Leadership and Crisis Decisions
Q: How do you approach decision-making under fire when time is short?
He emphasizes basing decisions on established principles, seeking input when appropriate, being decisive, and training teams to act; he compares this to a flight crew checklist where pre-planned steps reduce panic and keep operations moving.
Major General Jack Briggs on High-Stakes Leadership and Crisis Decisions
Q: What were the four questions you use to make high-stakes decisions?
The four questions are: What do we know, what don't we know, what are we doing about it, and who else needs to know; these questions help clarify the situation, accelerate decision-making, and empower the team to act without waiting for centralized approval.
