  • Fun and interesting!

I genuinely love and value the education that I’m learning in this podcast! Fortunately I have not suffered with concussions or their symptoms, but know many people who have and am excited to share this tool with them! I also feel prepared now in the sense that I have gained a background in knowing how to proceed if my children experience a concussion as they enter into sports. Thank you!

Seeing the Unseen: How Vestibular Rehab Can Transform Your Recovery w/ Dr. Helena Esmonde (Vestibular First) | E40
Q: How do you approach selecting maneuvers for a patient with suspected BPPV when anatomy or neck issues complicate traditional treatments?
I maintain a toolbox of backup maneuvers and tailor the approach to the patient's body, shoulder constraints, neck range of motion, and overall presentation, often starting with simpler options and escalating as needed while monitoring symptom response.
Seeing the Unseen: How Vestibular Rehab Can Transform Your Recovery w/ Dr. Helena Esmonde (Vestibular First) | E40
Q: What makes the vestibular assessment process unique when using infrared goggles?
Infrared goggles allow clinicians to observe eye movements in the dark, revealing how the brain and vestibular system interact without the patient's visual fixation suppressing abnormal movements; this helps identify specific patterns and guide targeted rehab.
The Hidden Habits That Can Speed Up — or Sabotage — Brain Recovery with Alex Lombardi | E51
Q: What is the core four concept Lombardi emphasizes for beginners?
The core four are 20-minute rest, order of meals (greens first, then protein, fats, and carbs last), lemon water with salt, and getting outside first thing in the morning to reset circadian rhythms and kickstart recovery.
The Hidden Habits That Can Speed Up — or Sabotage — Brain Recovery with Alex Lombardi | E51
Q: Why is the 23 hours outside of clinic so important for recovery?
Because daily choices, routines, and environmental factors shape brain function far more continuously than episodic clinic visits, allowing for tangible, ongoing improvements that align with an individual's life.”
How the Love Your Brain Foundation Turns Isolation Into Community For TBI Survivors And Caregivers | E45
Q: Trauma-informed care is a key theme. Can you explain what trauma-informed means in your programs and how you apply it to everything you do?
Trauma-informed care means creating spaces that feel safe, predictable, and empowering, while recognizing that group settings will have varying needs. We tailor instruction, minimize triggers, and structure activities to support self-regulation and agency for people with brain injury, incorporating both TBI-informed and trauma-informed considerations.
