  • Huge Help

I’ve felt like a medical mystery for decades as I’ve had test after test and seen specialist after specialist. Then I was diagnosed with CRPS in 2017 and most doctors I see blame CRPS for anything they can’t explain. My GP has always had my back, and we’ve gone through it all together. Then recently she told me she’d been listening to this podcast, Bendy Bodies, and that I was the first person she thought of. She thinks I have EDS, MCAS, & POTS. Listening to your podcasts and your guests (like D... more

  • LOVE

I have felt very alone on my health journey, as I live in an area where no one really even wants to recognize hEDS, POTS, MALS or MCAST ( I also have FMD) I have nearly lost my life twice to ruptured aneurysm, spontaneous subdural Bleed and now living with pretty sure MCAST of which I feel so pushed aside because none of my Drs want to even recognize it is a thing. ….. Thank you so so so so much for all of your information. It is encouraging to know someone hears me, and so many like me.

  • Thank you!

Thank you Dr Bluestein for sharing your wealth of knowledge. After my hEDS diagnosis I found few resources or people talking about what can be done. Hearing you and your guests have made me feel less alone and help me navigate what is going on with my body.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why Doctors Miss EDS, POTS, and MCAS with Dr. Dacre Knight (Ep 184)
Q: What are some common misconceptions about the triad of EDS, POTS, and MCAS?
Many clinicians assume these conditions are too disparate to be related, but they are interconnected through the body's connective tissues, affecting multiple systems and symptoms.
Why Doctors Miss EDS, POTS, and MCAS with Dr. Dacre Knight (Ep 184)
Q: Why do patients with EDS, POTS, and MCAS often struggle to get diagnosed?
Patients often have normal lab tests and are labeled as anxious or complex, which can lead to further dismissal and confusion in their treatment. Miscommunication and misunderstanding from healthcare providers contribute to their struggles.
Pelvic Pain in EDS: What Doctors Miss and Why It Matters with Dr Rachel Rubin (Ep 183)
Q: What is one hormone myth that you wish would go away?
One myth is that all hormones are the same and dangerous, which leads to misconceptions about their use and importance in treatment.
Pelvic Pain in EDS: What Doctors Miss and Why It Matters with Dr Rachel Rubin (Ep 183)
Q: For people listening right now that have EDS, joint hypermobility, POTS, MCAS, et cetera, why is it so important for us to talk about these things?
It's important because many patients with these conditions often feel misunderstood and dismissed, leading to unnecessary suffering. By bringing awareness to these issues, we can foster better understanding and treatment options.
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome: The Diagnosis Most Doctors Miss with Dr. Lawrence Afrin (Ep 181)
Q: What do you think would be, say there's a clinician listening right now and they're thinking, OK, I'm convinced that this could be something that, you know, some of my complex patients have?
They should consider testing for a variety of mast cell mediators beyond just tryptase, as it's a nuanced and complicated diagnosis.
