  • A beautiful opportunity to learn!

I love this podcast so much! Having worked with Jeffrey personally many years and a career ago I know that he is a lifelong learner. This is so apparent in this well thought out podcast. Especially these last seasons as he pays homage and dives deep with LGBTQ elders.

Hearing this history firsthand from those who truly lived through a revolution, in my opinion, has the ability to change hearts and minds. However, I think it may be most stirring to those of us who see the steps we are taking back... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Avram Finkelstein: "Silence = Death" and the Image That Defined the AIDS Crisis
Q: When did you realize Act Up was the driving force behind the movement, and how did that momentum develop?
It was a slow, cumulative process sparked by strategic actions, channeled through a dynamic group and a willingness to experiment with messaging, including posters, actions, and alliances that grew into a broader movement.
Barney Frank: We Are Change Agents (1940-2026)
Q: What was the role of your personal life in shaping your policy priorities in Congress?
I believed I could not separate my personal truth from my public work; coming out actually helped me articulate why gay rights needed to be fought for openly, and it also made it possible to advocate more effectively for broader protections.
Barney Frank: We Are Change Agents (1940-2026)
Q: Why did you decide to come out publicly when you did, and how did you weigh the political risks?
I weighed the political risks by consulting poll data that showed a significant portion of voters would be personally uncomfortable, but I also recognized that Americans were less homophobic in practice than people claimed they were in theory, which made the timing more viable.
Miss Major Griffin-Gracy: Was At The Forefront of Trans Liberation Since Before Stonewall (1946-2025)
Q: What do you think has changed about people accepting you as a trans woman?
Miss Major feels the world, in general, has become more accepting of trans individuals, allowing for a greater sense of freedom.
Miss Major Griffin-Gracy: Was At The Forefront of Trans Liberation Since Before Stonewall (1946-2025)
Q: What do you credit with your learning about prison abolition?
She learned a lot during her time in prison, particularly understanding systemic issues affecting everyone.
