《玉鰲魚花插》玉色青白，質地晶瑩潤澤，使用的是和闐玉料。
玉匠巧妙運用玉籽料表層原有的黑色部分，
雕成鰲魚的唇、齒、角、鰭與尾鰭，讓原本可能被視為限制的黑料，反而成為最有力量的造型語言。
傳說鯉魚躍過黃河龍門便成鰲魚，並將幻化為龍，因此「魚躍龍門」也象徵人生踏入更輝煌的新階段。
