曉樂和傑尼分別選了《撒哈拉歲月》裡的兩篇文章〈娃娃新娘〉和〈啞奴〉。〈娃娃新娘〉描寫當地童婚習俗，面對無法認同的文化，我們真的什麼都做不了嗎？〈啞奴〉則引出傑尼一直以來的糾結：同情心是一種自我滿足嗎？怎麼更坦然地幫助別人呢？
