  • An excellent history of JPL with one flaw

Overall an excellent history of the start of JPL. One comment - the current political bias should have been excluded. Perhaps MG might want to go back and edit her comments about Russian collusion in light of new information.

Imperfect Paradise: Voter Game Plan Part 5 – Your last chance to cram before the June 2 primary
Q: Why is it important that voters cast their ballots in June's primary elections?
Because the primary shapes which candidates have a realistic shot at the November ballot, and in many statewide races it determines who advances to the runoff, including the possibility of a two-Republican runoff or a single-winner race depending on local rules.
Imperfect Paradise: The World Cup is more than just soccer. How it’s a flash point for politics, the economy and ICE for host cities like LA
Q: What role is ICE expected to play during the World Cup and what are labor groups saying?
ICE is expected to participate in security, focusing on HSI investigations rather than enforcement, but labor unions fear subcontracting and job losses, with potential strikes if protections aren't guaranteed.
Imperfect Paradise: The World Cup is more than just soccer. How it’s a flash point for politics, the economy and ICE for host cities like LA
Q: What are the practical options for Angelenos to participate if they can't attend games in person?
There will be FIFA-sponsored fan festivals and multiple fan zones around the county, plus city-hosted free watch parties called Kick It in the Park, with widely available but ticketed access varying by location.
Imperfect Paradise: The World Cup is more than just soccer. How it’s a flash point for politics, the economy and ICE for host cities like LA
Q: Libby, why are World Cup tickets so expensive and what has FIFA said in response?
FIFA argues demand is high and uses dynamic pricing; officials claim the market is special and that North America represents a unique opportunity, while critics point to affordability concerns and ticket gouging headlines.
Imperfect Paradise: Voter Game Plan Part 3 — The primary races for LA mayor and LA County sheriff heat up
Q: What big issues is the LA County Sheriff's Department facing?
The department has a history of internal conflicts and staffing challenges, including past deputy gangs, vacancies, variable response times, and ongoing debates about jail conditions and immigration policy, all of which are shaping voter perspectives in the sheriff's race.
