I’m sorry. $81,500 still not enough for what officers have to deal with in today’s society Immense respect for officers and the service members of today

  • Thanks for a great show!

I am an Iowan living in Kansas City. I discovered the show right before the Covid 19 hit us. The podcast got me through a lot of my days as I listened on my workouts. I love the variety of topics. In KC our radio is Chiefs saturated. I love the Chiefs but it’s too much sometimes. The KXNO programming is important to me.

Q: What do you think contributes most to Waukee Northwest's success in track this season?
Ben Dewey attributed it to a culture of winning across multiple sports, strong shared athletes, and a robust feeder system that brings in versatile athletes who contribute to both track and other sports.

Q: What can people do to protect themselves from card skimming at gas stations?
Check bank and card statements regularly, enable fraud alerts, prefer tap-to-pay where possible, and be vigilant about any unusual device on the pump such as loose or oversized parts; if in doubt, use a different pump or pay inside.
The 1st Quarter with Heather and Alec 6-18-26 Hr 3
Q: You mentioned the big uptick for the 4th of July—how do you handle the spike in demand and what should a first-time buyer consider?
We qualify the show based on crowd size and distance, then match products to the space and budget, often starting with a smaller, safe setup and offering video previews to set expectations before checkout.
The 1st Quarter with Heather and Alec 6-19-26 Hr 3
Q: What makes the barrel aging part of the whiskey process important and how does it affect flavor and price?
The longer a bourbon sits in a barrel, the darker the juice and often the higher the proof; aging also adds complexity but after a point the juice diminishes due to evaporation, which increases price because the distiller's time and expertise are factored in, typically around the six to seven-year mark with a sweet spot around four to five years for price/value.
The 1st Quarter with Heather and Alec 6-19-26 Hr 3
Q: Can you explain barrel picks for me like I'm five? What exactly are we talking about?
Barrels are evaluated at the distillery or by our picking team; we select a barrel based on the juice inside and the aging environment, then we bottle and ship it to Iowa where it's sold as a store pick with a distinct profile and aging story.
