  • Started off well… fallen off a cliff

I really wanted to love this podcast as I loved Murder Book but the last 4 episodes have been abysmal and the inconsistent uploads have made me lose interest. Such a shame.

  • Good but

This is really compelling subject matter. I believe they found the guy. The only downside is Michael Connelly’s narration is so sleep-inducing.

  • Is the Jig Finally Up?

How many times can you say, “We have no way of really knowing, but…” and still remain credible? This podcast is determined to find out, but unfortunately the answer is “once.” Every instance beyond the first just further shows that there are way too many liberties taken to arrive at a suspect that still doesn’t make sense.

  • Great, then cringe

First six episodes were excellent. Compelling story telling, good pacing. Then the team decided to just gab about their hunches and rehash the same ideas over and over. Know when to end it, folks! Could’ve had a winner.

I am a career prosecutor with over 30 years experience in LA County. I have worked with Rick Jackson on homicide cases; he is the real deal and scrupulously objective. When I first heard that they were connecting these 2 murder cases together, I was highly skeptical, but gave it a listen because of Rick and Mitzi. IMHO their case is beyond compelling. You should give it a listen and reach your own conclusions.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Chapter 9: Last Man Standing
Q: Why didn't you knock Marvin Margolis off the suspect list?
Margolis is the only suspect who possesses both the qualities needed to determine the killer's identity: he had military experience and surgical skills, along with a motive characterized by anger and resentment towards society.
Chapter 9: Last Man Standing
Q: Tell us what Elizabeth's wanderlust was, and what she was looking for before she met her untimely and horrible end?
Elizabeth was seeking adventure and new experiences away from her small New England town. She had a desire for autonomy and exploration induced by her father's past and was not content with the traditional roles expected of her.
Chapter 7: The Round Table Part 1
Q: Can you address the elephant in the room that many on the Internet are firmly convinced Arthur Lee Allen was the Zodiac?
Alex explained that Allen has been cleared by three major forensic categories, indicating he is unlikely to be the Zodiac Killer.
Chapter 7: The Round Table Part 1
Q: Have any law enforcement organizations contacted you about the podcast?
Rick stated that they have communicated with LAPD and other law enforcement agencies who are reviewing the evidence shared in the podcast but haven't provided information back to the podcast team.
