  • Good communication

The host really knows how to interview a person. For an example, if things get a little off, and the guest forgets their thoughts, he is able to respark that thought by asking the right questions.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#112 | Trails & Tribulations Vol. 7 - Conquering Chaos: Tyler's Survival Saga on Mount Whitney - Tyler Wagoner
Q: What was the biggest lesson learned from your two Mount Whitney attempts?
Always prioritize proper gear and weather awareness; trekking poles and lighter packs improve efficiency, and a hard turnaround time can save you from dangerous situations. Also, don't underestimate the value of slow, deliberate pacing at altitude.
#109 | Exclusive Recording From The 6 Year Anniversary Live Podcast Show feat. Rolland Tizuela (Campthropology), Nikki Taylor (Way Out Wild), RJ Soria (TRVRS Outdoors) - Moderated by Justin Rimon
Q: What question did you most want to answer for the audience when you prepared for this live show?
The panel emphasized balancing risk with the desire to push limits, underscoring that education and preparation are the best ways to make adventurous goals attainable.
#106 | Trails & Tribulations Vol. 5 - Three Apples and a Prayer: Surviving a 60 Mile Vision Quest in the San Gabriel Mountains - Justin Williams (Rockhound Hiker)
Q: From this entire experience, what would you say are some of the major lessons learned?
He highlights the need to verify and study routes before committing to long traverses, the risk of glamorizing a vision quest without proper fuel and electrolytes, the myth of surviving on water alone, the humility of the mountains, and the value of safer, more mindful approaches to personal growth. He also notes the importance of considering loved ones and seeking meaningful experiences without extreme risk, as well as the powerful human connections formed along the way.
#103 | Trails & Tribulations Vol. 4 - From Wreck To Ridges: Surviving the Grand Canyon's Test - Lauren (YorAdventures)
Q: What would you say were the major takeaways and lessons learned from the Grand Canyon backpacking experience with your kids?
I am just in awe of how strong and resilient kids really can be. They trained hard for this and they kept going even when things were going wrong.
#100 | Reverse Episode Special: Host Justin Rimon in the Hot Seat — The Origin of Just Trek, The 100-Episode Journey, and His Path From Dance Floors to Mountain Peaks
Q: If there's one hiking or outdoor experience, what would it be?
I would relive my one-day hike of Mount Whitney, which was overwhelming and beautiful, making it one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
