Love this show. I am about 7 episodes in and it’s very insightful fun and interesting. The only criticism I have is that I wish the interviews were “live” meaning the hosts would interview the experts in person, even just partially. I always feel like there would be more nuanced information if the guest speaker was to have a more traditional back and forth with the hosts. Other than that a great show! Keep up the good work.
How many ads can fit into 20 minutes? Sweet mercy, feels like half the content is advertising. The content itself is moderately interesting at best, not worth the wait/skips.
Interesting and fun twists on history. Hosts are pleasant, intelligent, and entertaining. Most of all there is no agenda, politics, controversy; just entertainment! I’m kinda tired of all the podcasts continually forcing their agendas, politics, and especially the plethora of self help podcast out there. Sometimes I just want to be entertained; I don’t always need a life lesson!

I have enjoyed Matt Beat’s YouTube videos for a few years now, and I love Helen Hong, especially in Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found out they where doing a podcast together.
The subjects are great. It’s nice to learn something new every week. The only issue I have is with the sound quality. More specific, how the volume can be lower than the advertisements. This can be a problem when I’m driving my commercial motor vehicle.
Other than that, I recommend th... more
The hosts are barely audible compared to the deafening ads, which is a shame for me, because I really like Helen Hong in particular.
If iHeart really want to fulfill their responsibility to their (many) advertisers, shows need to be properly and professionally mixed. This wasn’t an engineering glitch. It was a bad executive decision.
iHeart, if you publish podcasts, do it competently. You’ve already helped ruin terrestrial radio. Don’t wreck podcasts.
