While I cannot remember how I stumbled across the Jane Eyre Files podcast, I’m tremendously glad I did after my most recent reading of Charlotte Bronte’s book, finding to my disappointment that none of my friends liked it or had read it recently (it seems something is wrong with my friends…) and therefore couldn’t really chat with me about one of my favorite novels. But within days of this sad discovery, there was Jane Eyre Files! Ah, magical internet!
Each episode, Charlene and her husband, Mi... more
Jane Eyre is my favourite book and this podcast really goes through the depths of this novel, making it come to life even more!
I’ve just finished listening to episode 7 and wanted to complement you on a very well-done, insightful discussion of Jane and Helen. Every week you consistently deliver thought-provoking information and views on the characters and plot. Thank you so much for doing this series!
In this adorable podcast married couple Mike and Charlene read and reflect on Charlotte Bronte’s classic romance Jane Eyre one chapter at a time. They come to the book with different perspectives - Charlene from that of a lifelong fan and Mike from someone who has read and enjoyed it once before but is now looking to dig a little deeper.
Devoting an episode to each chapter allows the pair to dig deep and offer reflections on the work that often draw on their own personal experiences, drawing att... more
Great rapport between husband & wife hosts. Offer good insights & analysis of the book and the various movies. My only gripe is that sometimes when they’re discussing parallels to real life or other books/movies, they go too much off Jane Eyre and the female host has to quickly summarise and end the episode. I kind of feel I’ve been cheated as the episode didn’t contain enough Jane Eyre. I meant to give it 3 and a half stars.
I look forward to this Podcast every week! Thanks SO much for doing it!
The cutest podcast!! I love Jane Eyre and it is so nice to listen to someone talk about it who loves the book as much as I do, and also someone who is reading it for the first time!
