  • Too many ads!

Why so many ads?! Still like the show and content, but when you headline stiff person syndrome I expect to hear something a little more in depth besides that it’s a rare disease.

Stop with the teaser headlines please.

  • Going down the hill

This was once a show that was more real info with some science backing, Now off the rails And fringe Too bad. This episode on neurodegenerative toxins is sooo weak; she is just reading some statements but really offering nothing to substantiate. It is really in the end telling us nothing of value…the show also just pushes its own supplements

I've been listening to Dr. Hoffman for decades because he is a trusted source for both conventional and complimentary medicine. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Intelligent Medicine Radio for June 13, Part 2: Smartphones and Social Media Create Real Harm for Adolescents
Q: Is there a lens that will let in all wavelengths of light to avoid diminished nerve conductivity and mitochondrial function after cataract surgery?
The host explains it's a theoretical concern; lenses are typically transparent and designed to transmit visible light well. More research would be needed to confirm any long-term effects on signaling to the brain and eye, but the lens replacement generally results in better transmission of light and improved vision.
Intelligent Medicine Radio for June 13, Part 1: The Best Form of Curcumin
Q: What can listeners do about anemia if they have borderline low blood counts?
The host emphasizes a thorough evaluation, including checking ferritin, B12, folate, inflammatory markers, and possibly bone marrow assessment if indicated, and considering a hematologist if necessary, while also noting age-related marrow changes and dietary factors.
Q&A with Leyla, Part 2: Kudos to holistic veterinarians!
Q: What is the latest on melatonin in relation to heart health and cancer risk?
Melatonin is not a major cardio-risk factor and earlier concerns about heart failure were not borne out; it remains useful for sleep for many people, and its broader role involves chronobiology and mitochondrial signaling rather than being a strong knockout sleep aid.
Q&A with Leyla, Part 2: Vibration devices to help osteoporosis?
Q: Elisa asked about taking hyaluronic acid orally and whether it causes water retention; what can you tell us about its oral and topical uses?
Orally, hyaluronic acid is unlikely to cause significant water retention; it can hydrate tissues and has topical cosmetic benefits for skin and vaginal tissues, with topical formulations and suppositories used for dryness and rejuvenation, while oral forms are more related to joint health and skin hydration.
Q&A with Leyla, Part 2: Vibration devices to help osteoporosis?
Q: What are your thoughts on using vibration devices to help osteoporosis in the hip and spine area?
Vibration platforms may benefit sedentary or mobility-impaired individuals, with limited additional benefit for those already active; the devices are considered potentially helpful for bone density maintenance in those unable to exercise regularly, and they may also aid lymphatic movement and lower-extremity circulation, but are not a universal solution.
