  • Too many ads!

Why so many ads?! Still like the show and content, but when you headline stiff person syndrome I expect to hear something a little more in depth besides that it’s a rare disease.

Stop with the teaser headlines please.

  • Going down the hill

This was once a show that was more real info with some science backing, Now off the rails And fringe Too bad. This episode on neurodegenerative toxins is sooo weak; she is just reading some statements but really offering nothing to substantiate. It is really in the end telling us nothing of value…the show also just pushes its own supplements

  • Fantastic info about movement for seniors

Just listened to the 2-part interview with Movement for Life creator Hedy and I’m so inspired to share it with my senior parents. It’s wonderful to hear about exercise for seniors that’s so accessible and life affirming. Such great info in there!

  • The Best in both Conventional and Complimentary Medicine Doctor

I've been listening to Dr. Hoffman for decades because he is a trusted source for both conventional and complimentary medicine. He is a true GEM for the reason that he tells it like it really is, not just from his own opinion but always based on facts. I can always count on looking to him for the latest information on what the truth is concernning the latest studies on things, but he will bring out all the truth, actual data or additional studies so that we can get the real story and not just a ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Environmental Toxins and Autoimmune Wellness with Dr. Aly Cohen, Part 1
Q: What makes an integrative rheumatologist different from a standard rheumatologist?
An integrative rheumatologist combines conventional medical treatments with nutrition, sleep, gut health, mind–body approaches, and lifestyle modifications to tailor care for autoimmune conditions.
Q&A with Leyla, Part 2: Nattokinase for blood pressure?
Q: Hilda writes, Dear Leyla and Dr. Hoffman, I can't believe that natto kinase lowered my blood pressure so much that I no longer need to take 12.5 milligrams of hydrochlorothiazide anymore. My BP was usually high, but now I'm an 85-year-old, I still bike, I hike, I snow shoe. Up the small mountains. I love it. Now with the natto kinase, my systolic is in the 107 to 110 range.
The hosts acknowledge the impressive BP change with natto kinase but caution that while it may help with blood flow and clots, it's not typical for all to see such dramatic BP drops. They discuss the need for mechanistic understanding and safety considerations, noting that any BP change should be monitored and not assumed to be universally safe or sufficient as a sole therapy.
Q&A with Leyla, Part 1: Are diets containing meat dangerous?
Q: Susan asks for a breakdown of warnings in the article and the positives and negatives of meat protein versus plant-based proteins.
The hosts acknowledge the controversy, emphasizing that there is no one-size-fits-all answer and that personal genetics, health status, and lifestyle must guide protein choices, while outlining that both animal and plant proteins have pros and cons depending on quality, preparation, and overall dietary patterns.
Intelligent Medicine Radio for April 11, Part 1: Muscle as Promoter of Overall Health
Q: Could you frame why muscle is gaining traction in discussions about overall health?
Brad Currier explains that muscle is a major metabolic driver and a large body constituent; its health affects glucose handling, resting metabolic rate, and brain function through signaling molecules, making it central to aging and healthspan.
Battling the Food Giants: How to Safeguard Our Nutrition, Part 1
Q: Tell us about your journey and what finally turned things around for you.
I reached rock bottom after years of chronic illness despite a strong background in nutrition. Functional testing revealed 15 nutrient deficiencies and arsenic exposure, and a pivotal doctor helped me see that healing was possible through targeted natural therapies, not just Western medications.
