  • The medicine to cure the madness

There are so few news and media outlets that are not in the full apologetic and spin mode for one political side or the other that a measured and intellectually honest show such as Boyd’s is almost extinct or the last of it’s kind. Which is tragic because it is exactly what we need in our country right now! This show is exactly what it advertises itself to be and if we take what is preached here to heart it will go a long way to fixing the many and overwhelming problems we face as a nation.

  • Disappointed this is so one sided

This show does not follow in the fair minded foot steps of Doug Write. Very one sided in paternalistic tone that is so dismissive of any other point of view. Don’t listen to this one instead listen to Voices of Reason for a much more balanced take on issues

Rare Disease Progression: Utah Families Seek Federal Action
Q: What happens to families when a therapy exists only in a clinical trial?
If a therapy is available in a trial, families may access the drug for a limited period, but when the trial ends or a drug isn't approved, ongoing access can disappear, leaving them with few options.
Rare Disease Progression: Utah Families Seek Federal Action
Q: What role does newborn screening play in these diseases, and why is time so critical?
Newborn screening can catch conditions early and allow interventions that prevent damage, but if signs are missed or the window has already passed, the damage may be irreversible; time is critical to preserve quality of life.
Rare Disease Progression: Utah Families Seek Federal Action
Q: Can you explain why rare diseases are called rare and how that affects access to treatment?
They are called rare because they affect a small number of people individually, but collectively they impact millions; the rarity leads to fewer targeted therapies, less profit for pharma, and slower regulatory action, making access to treatments slower and more challenging for families.
Farm Labor Shortages: Trump Admin Wants to Make it Cheaper to Hire Migrant Farm Workers
Q: How does the proposed policy change affect wages and housing, and what impact could that have on farmers?
Rigby notes that proposals could reduce labor costs by allowing lower wages and counting housing as part of compensation, which could help margins but raises questions about worker pay and overall market effects.
Farm Labor Shortages: Trump Admin Wants to Make it Cheaper to Hire Migrant Farm Workers
Q: Are we experiencing farm workers shortages in Utah, and how does the H2A program fit into that?
Val Rigby explains that Utah has long faced labor shortages for harvest, that H-2A is a guest worker program designed to fill seasonal needs, and that changes being discussed aim to streamline and expand access, including potential year-round use for specific sectors like dairy.
