Glad to hear this brilliant writer in podcast form
A short reading of the New York Times main headlines that helps interpret what is missing, intentionally obfuscated, factually incorrect, and generally an embarrassment to journalism on the front page, Monday - Friday. This is the bite size news I need to supplement all the in depth newsletters I subscribe to, and a breath of fresh air. With added bonus of the occasional dry aside that makes me laugh out loud. Thank you for this service!
This is a bite-sized, quiet podcast of wry media criticism. Unusual format, insightful. I often disagree with Tom Scocca but I always think of him as a saint of journalism—some of his written pieces awe me in their detail and elegance. This podcast is basically him applying that high standard to the NYT, and understatedly mocking it when it falls short. Good lessons on style here, and usually it ends up being at least a bit funny. Keep up the good work, Tom.
