Hidden deep in online forums, a growing subculture thrives on anger, isolation, and blame: incels, or “involuntary celibates.” Incels see themselves as rejected by women and overshadowed by so-called “Chads”—the confident, attractive men they believe they can never be. Their frustration often mutates into open hostility, harassment, and, in the most extreme cases, acts of violence.

  • Surface level with too many ads

If this podcast was about a group of people who were predominantly Black or Hispanic, I doubt the hosts would have so much empathy for the incel community. Three episodes in and the stories of those girls are devastating, but no novel information about the incel community is presented.

The ads are excessive and tout dubious health products that undercut the podcast’s aim at reliability.

It’s a really important issue and I wish it was covered better.

  • Not Great

I really wanted to like this podcast, and I was hoping to learn something. I kept listening even though there were a ridiculous number of ads and the host felt the need to speak in some weird breathy voice. But then I got to episode four where they brought on a doctor who called autism a “mental health disorder” and I noped right out of there. If you want to be taken seriously, start with people who aren’t still using the DSM II for their medical knowledge.

  • So many ads

It was hard to follow the story because of all the ads. I think the podcast has more ads then actual content.

  • Too much propaganda

So far (2 episode) the podcast sounds interesting, but the quantity of propaganda it’s too much, almost half of the episode. Not sure if I’ll finished this season for that sole reason

  • Episode 4- wow!

The first three episodes felt rather familiar, almost a true crime vibe. But that fourth episode was incredibly insightful! So much respect for the men interviewed. First of all, being brave enough to agree to be interviewed, and second, how they articulated their perspectives so honestly.

As a sidenote, I can’t believe how many people gave the show a low rating because of the commercials! Journalism isn’t free, people. How do you think content like this is produced? Just skip the commercials i... more

Q: What advice would you give to someone younger who is beginning to feel isolated or turning towards these spaces? Any advice that you'd like to give?
Honestly, not really. I feel like it's kind of inevitable for a lot of people to run into these types of spaces, especially if they're socially isolated. I think it's more on society to change.
