  • A Great Show Featuring Great Conversations

This is a great show. It features interesting people just talking about their interests and passions. The topics are wide ranging and I love that guests and the host will sometimes take a detour and talk about subjects I would not have guessed they would delve into. Very interesting podcast even if you are not from Wichita.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What the FLOCK is the 4th Amendment? With Sam MacRoberts, Kansas Justice Institute
Q: What is Kansas Justice Institute's approach to government overreach when it comes to regulatory inspections?
KJI pursues long-running public-interest litigation to challenge unconstitutional practices, focusing on cases where government agencies impose inspections or licenses that infringe Fourth Amendment rights, and seeking court orders to stop such practices rather than monetary damages.
Jon Bachura -- Entrepreneurology
Q: What does ultimate destination look like for an entrepreneur, and how do you measure progress toward that goal?
The aim is a life where cash-flow exceeds expenses and you can pursue meaningful work and time with family; progress is measured by sustainable wealth plus the ability to be present with loved ones.
Jon Bachura -- Entrepreneurology
Q: So Ben, Lydia, and Byron—five questions—that you use in Entrepreneurology, how do they shape your approach to interviewing?
They're designed to elicit thinking out loud, exposing patterns and practical lessons rather than abstract theories, so listeners can learn fast by listening to real experiences.
Michael Gregory, Conflict Resolution Specialist, Author and former IRS agent
Q: What led you to transition from federal service to private consulting?
After retiring from the IRS, opportunities arose to help smaller firms and startups, and I chose to build a consulting practice focused on mediation and business valuation, which allowed me to apply the integrity and problem-solving skills I developed in government to private sector problems.
Michael Austin, Economist "The Exchange", Wichita Organization for Government Efficiency Exchange
Q: What were the main areas analyzed in the report?
Three analyses were conducted: an economic peer benchmark, a vendor/payments analysis, and economic development/contract oversight, plus a survey of 300 residents to gauge public support.
