Life long Alabamian here….Get new narrators and I’ll listen. Those accent are something out of a bad southern movie. It not just the accents but the phrases they use when narrating. Yes I know us southerns do not sound the same but these people are trying too hard. It makes me want to pull my hair out listening to it.
Did you just hear her say mobil not mobile
To the ones saying the accent is fake… there are MANY Southern accents depending on where you live. It’s not fake, it’s just not an accent from where you’re from…
The podcast is well written with excellent commentary . The interviews within the story are woven in the podcast smoothly. I’d like to hear the narrator share about herself or her thoughts during the show to feel more connected to the podcast. Keep up the great work.

Delves into small-town crime with a community-first storytelling approach, centering on what residents recall and reveal about shocking cases that unsettled their towns. Episodes emphasize intimate detail, local setting, and a mix of interviews, victim stories, and re-enactments to build a sense of place and tension. The show often highlights Southern settings and themes, with listener feedback pointing to strong narration and compelling investigations, but also sparking debate about voice, pacing, and format consistency. This mix makes it a good fit for fans of character-driven true crime with a regional flavor, and for brands seeking authentic Southern-crime storytelling or cross-promotional potential with related true-crime properties.
