  • Monetizing Too Hard

There are better ways to monetize. Too many episodes are subscriber only. It’s like a forced Patreon. Also, many episodes are extremely short that could be combined.

  • Best TWIT Show but No More

Recently cancelled due to "comercial considerations"...not enough add revenue. What a bunch of DA's You should be able to support a commercial loser of this quality (the best). TWIT is becoming less relevent every day and they richly deserve what they are going to get.

  • Disappointing product review

I was looking forward to shows dedicated to product reviews, the A1E in particular, but the whole show went nowhere. They basically spent the whole show explaining the terms they were using and the concepts and told us next to nothing about the television.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

HTG 522: What's Up With Vizio TVs? - What Happened After Walmart's Acquisition?
Q: My question is, does Vizio still make TVs? If so, why don't I hear about them anymore? Has their quality gone down, or have other manufacturers surpassed them in quality?
The host explains that Walmart acquired Vizio in 2024 and now markets it largely as a Walmart private-label line, which explains the reduced visibility of the Vizio name in stores and online; while Vizio TVs remain inexpensive, concerns persist about quality and support based on older reviews, with TCL and Hisense now occupying the higher end of the value-to-premium spectrum.
HTG 520: A/V Career Advice - Breaking Into the Field in an Age of AI & Automation
Q: How did you get to the point you are today in your career, and what would you recommend Mason Parker do to further his career in home theater?
Scott explains his career path from physics and music to roles in publishing and journalism, then adapts that experience to a focus on AV installation. He recommends getting hands-on experience through internships, joining professional bodies like CEDIA, pursuing certifications (CEDIA, ISF, THX/HAA), using resources like Find a Smart Home Professional, and networking to build practical skills and industry connections.
HTG 519: ISF Dark vs Filmmaker Mode - Are These Settings Any Different?
Q: Should I use Filmmaker mode or ISF dark mode for a dark room?
Both modes strive to meet the standards of content creators, and there isn't much difference between them. You might prefer one over the other based on personal preference and the specific conditions of your room.
HTG 517: Sacramento Sanctuary - Home Theater of the Month Interview!
Q: What would you say was the greatest moment of the process so far?
Being able to spend time with family and friends watching movies for the first time in the new theater.
HTG 517: Sacramento Sanctuary - Home Theater of the Month Interview!
