She has gone through it herself and can speak from experience as well, which I love! • Great content but interviews are rough

I’ve learned so much valuable info from the pod but I cannot get through the interview episodes especially the current one. The host interrupts so frequently and this last midwife interview would have made me feel better about home birth if it didn’t come across so insider gossipy and instead presented facts. Nothing is more annoying than someone saying they wish they had taken the time to find the stats or studies on something but didn’t. I was hoping it would have been a bit more like a true i... more

  • I tried to like it!

I wanted to like this podcast! The host and I share many values and lifestyle choices so I was excited to find this podcast. Unfortunately, she interrupts the guest so many time and the whole episode that I listened to felt like an opportunity for the host to prove everything she knows and plug in her instagram. The guest could hardly get a word in without being interrupted.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Folate, MTHFR & Prenatal Health | with Dr. Eric Ciappio & Lauren Eisen
Q: What about the labeling and forms of folate to look for on supplements?
Look for L5MTHF or methyl tetrahydrofolate on the label; ensure the product states folate (not just folic acid) and be mindful of dosage and the dietary folate equivalents (DFE) guidance.
Folate, MTHFR & Prenatal Health | with Dr. Eric Ciappio & Lauren Eisen
Q: Why consider L5 MTHF over folic acid?
L5 MTHF is a directly bioactive form of folate that bypasses the conversion step many people with the MTHFR variant cannot perform efficiently, leading to better absorption and utilization for both mother and baby.
Folate, MTHFR & Prenatal Health | with Dr. Eric Ciappio & Lauren Eisen
Q: What is folate and why is it important during pregnancy?
Folate is a B vitamin (B9) that helps build DNA, which is crucial as the baby grows rapidly; inadequate folate can increase the risk of neural tube defects early in pregnancy. The episode emphasizes consuming enough folate before conception and during pregnancy.
Strengthening Intuition Through Embodied Movement | with Rachael Robertson
Q: What are some practical ways listeners who are pregnant or postpartum can start moving today without breaking the bank?
Start with walking, use free mat Pilates videos online, and try simple stretches. Find a friend to move with, which adds accountability and social support, and keep movements gentle and consistent to build habit.
Hyperemesis Gravidarum: Prevention + Holistic Root-Cause Support | with Jes Reynolds
Q: What can expectant mothers do before pregnancy to give themselves the best chance for manageable nausea during pregnancy?
They can focus on balancing biological rhythms, ensuring proper mineral status, and maintaining good circadian health to set a healthy foundation going into pregnancy.
