As a doula, childbirth educator, and perinatal patient advocate, this is my go-to resource. It helps me learn and decipher the evidence on a wide variety of topics and it is also helpful to share with my clients and students. Highly recommend following this podcast and searching through the tremendous archive of past episodes.
I don’t want to listen to a podcast that refers to women as birthing people. The staff also lists their pronouns on the website, so it’s hard to take any of them seriously.
I really thought this was going to be great but honestly it’s hard to listen to for very long. A lot of numbers are thrown around from studies - within a minute I’m zoning out and don’t even remember what they were referencing! And yes, very very PC language is distracting (chest feeding, etc). I recommend the critical care OB podcast as an alternative because they use real clinical scenarios and incorporate studies rather than just vomiting number after number.
Not even halfway through an episode…They lost me at the term they keep using…”pregnant people”
Listened to her podcast on Vitamin K and she tried to make a black box warning some racist dog whistle.
Literally could not take anything she said seriously after that. This is the epitome of what PhD programs have become. As if it was called a purple box warning people wouldn’t be sounding the alarm about a purple box warning.
