  • Getting worse

I feel like the first season of this show was pretty great and it has slowly been getting worse. Some of the guests are still good, but others are just pushing their own agenda and have no evidence to back up their statements. Or maybe they do, but we don’t get to hear it because the host admits she cuts out 30-45 minutes of “some of the best parts” of each interview and puts it behind a paywall. She claims it’s for the algorithm, but I still think it’s all an odd thing to say. I know she needs ... more

  • Stop giving medical advice followed by saying you’re not a doctor…

I was totally on board at first, but she keeps interjecting about how to avoid certain tests, how to avoid certain vitamins, etc. and then following by saying “but take that with a grain of salt.. I’m not a medical doctor”. As soon as you give your opinion on your aversion to pregnancy care that is directed by medical guidelines, people are going to listen to you whether or not you follow by saying you’re not the right person to be giving that information. Example… The glucose tolerance liquid t... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Car Seat Safety 101: When to Forward Face, How to Choose the Right One & Mistakes to Avoid with Michelle Pratt from Safe In The Seat | Ep. 136
Q: At what age or indicators should a child switch from rear-facing to forward-facing?
The general guidance is to wait until the seat's limits are maxed out—height, weight, and head height—and to keep them rear-facing as long as possible, usually until around age four or later if the seat allows.
Gut Health in Kids: Antibiotics, Parasites, Microbiome Red Flags & What Parents Can Do with Dr. Song | Ep. 135
Q: How do antibiotics affect the gut microbiome in kids, and what can parents do about it?
Antibiotics can wipe out beneficial bacteria as well as harmful ones, increasing risks for anxiety, depression, and autoimmune conditions; manage by using antibiotics only when necessary, ask six key questions before prescriptions, and focus on restoring microbiome health after treatment through diet and, if appropriate, targeted interventions.
Gut Health in Kids: Antibiotics, Parasites, Microbiome Red Flags & What Parents Can Do with Dr. Song | Ep. 135
Q: What is the gut microbiome, and why is it foundational for children?
The gut microbiome is a complex ecosystem of trillions of organisms whose balance influences immune development, gut-brain interactions, and even hormone regulation; diet and early life factors shape this system, affecting health across the lifespan.
Why Modern Parenting Is Stripping Our Kids of Independence with Lenore Skenazy | Ep. 132
Q: What tips do you have for parents to balance legitimate safety concerns with letting their kids experience real-world risks as they age?
Avoid labeling everyday activities as 'risk' and instead focus on gradual, supervised exposure that still lets kids navigate decisions for themselves; start with age-appropriate autonomy and build up as they demonstrate competence, always balancing safety with opportunities to learn resilience.
Why Some Educated Women Are Choosing Big Families (and What It Says About Motherhood Today) with Catherine Pakaluk, author of Hannah's Children | Ep. 129
Q: Did you find any themes on what the women said regarding identity and purpose in motherhood?
Mothers often struggle with their identity after having children, transitioning to a self where motherhood becomes integral to who they are rather than a temporary phase.
