  • Great info

I love the information provided on this podcast. I'm 61 years old and just started lifting almost 2 years ago and I am loving it! I find so much of the information here helpful as I get older. I would recommend that you stop saying "suffice to say". It is said so many times in a podcast that it just becomes all you hear. It's probably just misophonia but it is really said so many times.

  • Fantastic podcast, good content

Recently found this podcast and really enjoy it! The conversation with Dr. Darren Candow about creatine was fascinating. What really resonated with me was how little I knew about the benefits of creatine for women and the amazing benefits it can have on bone, mood, memory, and more. Thank you!

Pre-Workout Nutrition for Early Morning Training Sessions
Q: What should I eat before a 6 a.m. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class if I have about an hour to spare?
Aim for smaller portions focused on carbohydrates with a little protein and minimal fat, such as an applesauce packet, a banana with a half-serving of protein shake, or yogurt with fruit to provide quick digestion and steady energy without heaviness. If you have more time (two hours or more), you can include a balanced meal with protein, carbs, and a moderate amount of fat, while tailoring portions to your size, intensity, and goals.
"Ugly" Lifting Face = More Gym Gains?
Q: How do I know if I'm lifting enough weight?
Check your face during your working sets; if you're calm and relaxed, you may need to lift heavier.
The True Meaning of Strength w/ Alyssa Ages
Q: What did you uncover about women's participation in strength sports?
Women's strength training has taught many that they can appreciate their bodies for what they can do, moving away from just aesthetics.
The True Meaning of Strength w/ Alyssa Ages
Q: What was it like to decide to write a book on this topic?
It evolved from wanting to cover the history of Strongman into a personal narrative about the importance of strength in my life and its impact on others.
Rucking for Women
Q: What kind of footwear do I need for rucking?
You can start with any comfortable athletic shoes, but supportive footwear is recommended as you increase weight and distance.
