It’s helpful for anyone trying to start a small business, but particularly helpful for those who own, operate, hoping to operate a fitness or health and wellness driven business. They focus on key business terms to bring it to an audience both at a high-level, but also in a practical way where you can actually learn and implement changes for your business. Keep it up

Q: What would you tell yourself14–16 years ago if you could give yourself advice about starting and scaling this business?
If you have an ambitious objective, quantify the worst-case scenario, accept a financial hit if needed, and proceed anyway—because the upside impact of a successful expansion is disproportionately higher than the temporary setback, and it can fuel subsequent growth if you persevere.
Learn how this gym generates $1.4M with only 280 members
Q: And how are you approaching leases and financing for expansion—how do you position the business to be bankable when negotiating with landlords?
We leverage our 16-year track record to gain credibility with landlords, push for landlord-funded build-outs, and negotiate long-term leases (10 years) with TI subsidies. We emphasize the stability of a multi-location operator, backed by a strong pipeline and a centralized admin that streamlines operations across sites.

Q: Tell me a little bit about your gym, what you guys offer, and kind of the model. How do you lay out the space? How does it all work?
We're a double-pod, six-on-one small group training model with two mirrored studios that can serve up to 12 clients per hour, and we focus on a vibe that reduces gym anxiety through design and limited equipment. Our approach prioritizes training with a lean setup, while ensuring that every session is tightly structured and highly efficient for both clients and trainers.
The money habits of successful gym owners
Q: What are some green flags and red flags when people are shopping for an accountant?
Key points include responsiveness, availability for questions, and whether the advisor can provide context to financial statements, not just numbers.

Q: Tell us a little bit about you guys and what you guys do.
Tad and Andy describe their accounting firm, its niche in the gym/fitness space, and how they help gym owners with bookkeeping, taxes, and financial insights.
