This could have been an excellent edge of your seat listen. But, to hear a lonely, lesbian woman whining over and over in each episode and talking like a truck driver killed it for me. The title character could have put real drama and emotion into the story but fell flat longing to find her missing wife, and not wondering an awful lot about the other 8 billion other missing people.
Every single podcast!!!! The women says “my wife” what is it with all you millennials? You do know we are not all gay right, I’m not exaggerating it’s every single pod I tune into, you do know as a parent all this woke bull is affecting our kids, you may get it when you grow up
Just the right mix of mystery, ambience, good character writing, and voice acting.
Gripping and intriguing. Incredible that it's a one person show. Story is excellent, covering many aspects of modern life not often covered in this genre, particularly mental health. But beyond the story, the sound and editing is also fantastic. This artist is truly amazing.
Forgotten. Cobalt the world’s best IT fish.
The creator -who voices the main character - truly makes this story great. She’s good. Compared to a lot of these kinds of podcasts she sounds like a pro actress. Maybe she is one I don’t know but this podcast is her unfunded creation. For making and publishing this thing completely on her own - it’s all very impressive. Her voice is uniquely easy to listen to in tone as well. What I mean is that there is nothing high pitched, screechy or stressful about it. Which is unfortunately kind of rare w... more
it would be a great movie

I heard about this podcast from Start With This, Hosted my Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Craynor, from whom good things always flow. I was hooked from Episode 1. This has become one of my fave podcasts and I love the Universe (Universes?) in which it’s set. May it run for 10 seasons, May Spielberg adapt it for the big screen and Hideo Kojima develop the video game. I can’t say enough good things. I was nervous about the ending given the many layers of mystery, but somehow it was perfectly executed.
Someone somewhere on the internet mentioned Gone and I'm grateful to whoever that was. The story is chilling and dark and hard and...so very well done. It's thought-provoking and entertaining. Highly recommend
I listened to season 1 in high school. By the time the 2019 update post came and went I was convinced this series would never come back. And I thought that was a shame because this was such an interesting concept to explore. Lo and behold, 5 years later an update finally arrived. I’m definitely going to go back and listen to season 1 again for context! Can’t wait to hear season 2!
… marred by frequent and prolonged sobbing by female characters — a disservice to female protagonists, I think.
The writing and speech explains my heart better than I ever could. Please don’t ever stop sharing content
Edit/update:
(Season 2, Ep 9) no spoilers but Holy Wow! There was a point where I literally gasped and dropped my bodega Prosecco (bc I’m fine. I Promise.) and realized I have to go back and listen to everything again, just like with a favorite movie you want to go back and see nuance you totally missed the first time.
Just brilliant.
And still so beautiful. 🖤💜🤯🙏
If you’re into science-fiction/horror check out this one-woman podcast. The narrator wakes up one morning to discover that she’s the only person left in the world. From then on the mysteries only pile up. In each episode she describes more about her new life as well as revealing her inner trials and weaknesses. “Gone” is a remarkable story about an ordinary woman in a remarkable situation. The voice acting is spot-on. I was captured from the first minutes. I listen to each episode during my 3x w... more
