  • Great men are made in Christ, not born in to greatness

New to the podcast, but it’s already clear this is a quality daily listen! Being all I can be as a man in many different callings from husband to friend and on comes from investing the time in the word and asking for the blessing from God. This podcast is going to help keep me on track to continue to pursue a more Christ-like life. The best man to ever live. Thanks Gird Up!

  • Girls can listen, too ;)

I listen to this as a Lutheran Woman just to hear the stories and perspectives that it offers. Some episodes are worth listening to over and over, some are just fun conversations.

Love the mission of sharing Christian men’s perspectives for boys/Teens/young adults, but I like listening, too!

  • A sorely needed lesson

This Podcast is a wonderful message to men and boys about how to be a good and strong man. It also reminds you that that is ok to be those things. It’s been so long since men and boys have been told anything good about themselves, or have been shown anything other than contempt for being who they were born to be. Gird Up is a daily listen of mine and thanks to Charlie for the work he and his folks are doing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

1079 - Matthew Bown | Protecting Your Eden and Radical Candor
Q: How would you defend the high standard you set for teen leaders and campers?
By arguing that holiness is a clear biblical standard and that Christian culture often excuses minor deviations; therefore, the standard should be upheld to protect the integrity of the Eden-like environment Camp Philip aims to sustain.
1075 - Jeremiah Wallander | A Post PG-13 World: Life as a Gen Z Christian
Q: What symptoms are you noticing in teens that signal a shift from boredom to anxiety?
Teens increasingly report anxiety driven by exposure to news and online content, with limited ability to process or discuss these topics with trusted adults, leading to a sense of overwhelm rather than simple boredom.
1075 - Jeremiah Wallander | A Post PG-13 World: Life as a Gen Z Christian
Q: What do you mean by a post PG-13 world?
A culture where younger generations absorb intense, often mature content earlier and in condensed formats, creating heightened anxiety and a need for frameworks to test truth and navigate moral questions grounded in Christian faith.
1073 - Adam Koontz | A Primary Allegiance to Christ
Q: What do you think about the current dynamics among left-leaning and right-leaning Christians, and how should a Christian navigate this landscape?
Koontz emphasizes that primary allegiance should be to Christ and His truth, with political views ranking lower in importance; Christians should evaluate cultural and political pressures through a biblical lens and communicate with empathy while maintaining steadfast faith.
1071 - Joshua Pauling | The Digital Age and The Christian
Q: What is the dominant way technology is shaping our formation according to your view?
Technology is not neutral; it nudges us toward disembodiment and autonomy, shaping identity and community in ways that require intentional negotiation and boundaries.
